An apparatus comprised of a charging component, a development component, a transport component, a photoconductive component, and a fusing component, and wherein the development component contains a toner comprising at least one binder in an optional amount of from about 85 to about 99 percent by weight, at least one colorant in an optional amount of from about 0.5 to about 15 percent by weight, and calcium stearate in an optional amount of from about 0.05 to about 2 percent by weight and wherein following triboelectric contact with carrier particles, the toner has a charge Q measured in femtocoulombs per particle diameter D measured in microns (Q/D) of from about &#x2212;0.1 to about &#x2212;1 fC/&#x3bc;m with a variation during development of from about 0 to about 0.25 fC/&#x3bc;m and wherein the distribution is substantially unimodal and possesses a peak width of from about 0.1 fC/&#x3bc;m to about 0.5 fC/&#x3bc;m and the toner possesses a charge to mass M, as measured in grams, ratio (Q/M) of from about &#x2212;25 to about &#x2212;70 &#x3bc;C/gram with variation of Q/M during development of from about 0 to about 15 &#x3bc;C/gram.

Toners and developers

A toner comprised of resin, colorant and calcium stearate.

A toner composition includes a binder, a colorant, and a treated alumina, wherein the treated alumina includes alumina particles treated with a treatment agent. The treatment agent can be, for example, an alkylalkoxysilane such as decyltrimethoxysilane.

Toner compositions with surface additives

A toner comprised of resin, colorant and a coated silica, and wherein said silica has a primary particle size of about 25 nanometers to about 55 nanometers, and an aggregate size of about 225 nanometers to about 400 nanometers, and said coating is comprised of a mixture of an alkylsilane and an aminoalkylsilane.

Toner compositions

Detection of the presence and amount of an external surface additive such as silica upon the surface of a toner is accomplished by treating the external surface additive with a fluorescent material and exposing the toner to ultraviolet light. This permits accurate quality control over the amount of the external surface additive required for the toner. The toner thus includes a binder resin and a colorant, and at least one external surface additive upon the surface of the toner, wherein the at least one external surface additive contains a fluorescent material. The fluorescent material may be a fluorescein dye.

A toner comprised of polymer and titanium oxide dihydroxide of the formula --O--Ti(OH).sub.2 wherein Ti is titanium.

A toner comprised of binder, colorant, and a silica containing a coating of an alkylsilane.

A liquid developer comprised of a liquid, resin particles, an optional nonpolar liquid soluble charge director, and a charge adjuvant comprised of an aluminum salt of an acid, wherein the acid is a hydroxy carboxylic acid, an amino carboxylic acid, an aromatic carboxylic acid, an aliphatic carboxylic acid, or a sulfonic acid and imaging processes using the same one disclosed.

Developer compositions and imaging processes

Toners comprised of a cyan toner, a magenta toner, a yellow toner, an orange toner, or a red toner, and a black toner, each of said toners being comprised of resin and pigment; and wherein the pigment for the orange toner is Orange 13, Cl 21110, Orange 34, Cl 21115, Orange 5, Cl 12075, Orange 16, Cl 21160, Orange 36, Cl 11780, Orange 46, Cl 15602, Orange 67, or Orange 69, and wherein the pigment for the red toner is Red 53:1, Cl 15585, Red 48:1, Cl 15865:1, Red 122, Cl 12370, or Red 254; and wherein said pigment for each toner is prepared by flushing said wet pigment, wherein a cyan, magenta, orange, or red and yellow pigment water wet cake is mixed with toner resin, and the water is substantially removed to generate pigmented resin, or wherein said pigment for each toner is prepared by dispersing said pigment with a polymeric alcohol.

Colored toner and developer compositions

Toners comprised of a cyan toner, a magenta toner, a yellow toner, a violet toner, and a black toner, each of said toners being comprised of resin and pigment; and wherein the pigment for the violet toner is Violet 19 with a C.I. number of 46500, Violet 23 with a C.I. number of 51319, Violet 3 with a C.I. number of 42535, Blue 1, Blue 60, or Blue 61, and wherein said pigment for each toner, excluding black, is prepared by flushing a wet pigment, wherein said cyan, magenta, yellow, and violet pigment water wet cake is mixed with a toner resin, and the water is removed to generate pigmented resin.

Colored toner and developer compositions and process for enlarged color

Toners comprised of a cyan toner, a magenta toner, a yellow toner, an orange toner, a green toner, and a black toner, each of said toners being comprised of resin and pigment; and wherein the pigment for the orange toner is Orange 5, C.I. number 12075, Orange 13, C.I. number 21110, Orange 16, C.I. number 21160, or Orange 34, C.I. number 21115, and the pigment for the green toner is Green 7, C.I. number 74260, or Green 36, C.I. number 74265, and wherein said pigment for each toner, excluding black, is prepared by flushing each of said pigments, wherein a cyan, magenta, yellow, orange, and green pigment water wet cake is mixed with toner resin, and the water is removed, or substantially removed to generate pigmented resins.

A combination of five colored toners containing resin and certain pigments of magenta, yellow, orange, red, and black, and processes for the preparation of these toners by, for example, mixing a cyan, magenta, orange, or red and yellow pigment water wet cake with toner resin, followed by substantially removing the water to generate pigmented resin.

Process for the preparation of colored toner and developer compositions

A combination of toners including a cyan toner, a magenta toner, a yellow toner, an orange toner, a green toner and a black toner, each of the toners containing resin and pigment. The pigment for the orange toner can be Orange 5, C.I. number 12075, and the pigment for the green toner can be Green 7, C.I. number 74260. The pigment for each of the toners excluding black can be prepared by flushing processes.
