A contact element () comprises a spring-elastic carrier strip () extending in a longitudinal direction, and a plurality of web elements () having deformable feet (), () that are disposed on the carrier strip () in the longitudinal carrier strip direction behind each other perpendicular to the carrier strip plane in a resilient manner in order to establish the electric contact between two opposing surfaces. A more compact design is achieved in that the web elements () are configured asymmetrically in relation to a center plane (M) extending in the longitudinal carrier strip direction.

Contact element and use of such a contact element in a plug connection

In a contact element ( ) for electrically connecting two contact pieces ( ) opposing each other with contact surfaces ( ), wherein the contact element ( ) extends along a longitudinal axis ( ) and encompasses numerous separate, identical spring-mounted individual elements ( ) that are arranged essentially parallel to each other and transverse to the longitudinal axis ( ), which are secured to a continuous carrier band ( ) extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis ( ), and establish the electrical contact between the contact surfaces, a large working area is achieved while keeping current load capacity high by designing the individual elements as interlaced contact bridges ( ).

Contact element

In a contact apparatus (4) for providing an electrical contact (1) between two flatly overlapping, current carrying conductor elements, particularly in the form of conducting bars and flat plates, the contact apparatus (4) being positioned and compressed between the conductive elements, and at least one resiliently compressible contact element along with at least one support element located adjacent the contact element for the purpose of limiting the compression of the at least one contact element, the at least one contact element and the at least one support element, in order to attain a flexible match to variable connector geometries, are shaped as separate contact modules (5a-d) and support modules (6a-d) which may be combined together.
