A coaxial cable may include a center conductor; a dielectric insulator configured to surround the center conductor; an inner conductive foil layer configured to surround the dielectric; a braided shield layer configured to surround the inner conductive foil layer; and an outer jacket configured to surround the outer conductive foil layer. The outer conductive foil layer may be bonded to the outer jacket; the outer conductive foil layer may include a first lateral region, a second lateral region, and a sealant; the first and second lateral regions may be configured to overlap each other; the sealant may be disposed between the first lateral region and the second lateral region to form a sealed joint; and the sealed joint may be configured to prevent moisture from passing the outer conductive foil layer and migrating along the coaxial cable, which may prevent signal loss or coaxial cable connector damage.

A connector includes a body having a central bore and a first grounding contact surface, a post disposed within the central bore and having an outwardly projecting flange configured to produce a first portion of a mating interface, and a conductive coupler. The post portion has a tubular sleeve configured to mechanically and electrically engage a prepared end of a coaxial cable. The conductive coupler has an engagement surface at a first end configured to mechanically and electrically engage an interface port, a lip at a second end configured to produce a second portion of the mating interface, and a second grounding contact surface opposing the first grounding contact surface. The first and second portions are configured to slide along the mating interface to rotate about an elongate axis of the connector. The connector includes a conductive ring disposed between the first and second grounding contact surfaces and configured to produce an electrical path between the body and the conductive coupler.

A ground block may include a metal ground plate and a ground wire fixedly coupled with the metal ground plate. The ground wire is configured to be non-detachable from the ground block during normal use of the ground block. The ground block may be formed by soldering, brazing, or clamping the ground wire to the metal ground plate.

A grounding member for maintaining a ground path in a cable connector includes, in one embodiment, an inner core configured to flex when a force is applied to the grounding member during operation of the connector. The grounding member further includes an outer conductive coating applied to the inner core. The outer conductive coating is configured to flex from a first state to a second state when a force is applied to the grounding member, so as to maintain a conductive path through the connector when the outer conductive coating flexes between the first and second states during operation of the connector.

A cable includes a core having a length, a jacket coaxially surrounding the core along the length, and a non-flowing floodant between the core and the jacket. The non-flowing floodant is disposed circumferentially and in a segmented manner such that the coaxial drop cable is configured to include a plurality of first areas, separated from one another along the length, that include the non-flowing floodant, and second areas, separated from one another along the length by a respective one of the first areas, having a space between the jacket and the core without the non-flowing floodant. The non-flowing floodant is configured to circumferentially seal a space between the core and the jacket at the plurality of first areas. Two consecutive ones of the plurality of first areas are configured to contain moisture in the second area between the two consecutive ones of the plurality of first areas.

A ground block may include a metal ground plate and a ground wire fixedly coupled with the metal ground plate. The ground wire is configured to be non-detachable from the ground block during normal use of the ground block. The ground block may be formed by soldering or brazing the ground wire to the metal ground plate.
