An automation unit for handling component carriers has an enclosure for arranging components carriers within a first, a second and a third stacking space. The enclosure has a loading opening for the first stacking space, a transfer device for transferring component carriers between the stacking spaces, and a separating device to selectively separate or release the first stacking space inwardly. A safety system for an intervention area is at the loading opening to interrupt the operation of the automation unit if it detects an intervention. The safety system may switch to partial monitoring mode, to full monitoring mode after completion of an automated loading process or deactivate in a manual loading mode when the separating device separates the first stacking space. The safety system may switch to full monitoring mode before the separating device releases the first stacking space. The automation unit can be loaded both automatically and manually safely.

A tool for hob peeling rotating workpieces having pre-machined teeth comprises a gear-wheel shaped main body and tooth-shaped cutting inserts () which at the end face in the region of the tip circle are disposed on the main body. The invention relates to a device for use in production of bevel gears. The device comprises a turning machine (), with a working spindle () and a counter-holder (), arranged co-axially to a rotational axis (B) of the working spindle () for the coaxial tensioning of a workpiece blank (K). A multi-functional tool holder () is provided, which may be displaced relative to the workpiece blank (K) held in the turning machine () and comprises a tool base () mounted to rotate about an axis (B). The tool base () is provided for fixing one or more tools. A tool housing () with milling head () is provided, the tool housing () being displaceable relative to the workpiece blank (K) held in the turning machine () and the milling head () is mounted to rotate about a milling head axis (B). A controller is provided for control of the movement processes, to subject the workpiece blank (K) firstly to a turning process with a tool fixed to the tool base () and then a toothing machining with the milling head ().

Universal machine for the soft machining of bevel gears and corresponding method

The invention relates to a device () comprising a workpiece spindle () for receiving a gear wheel (), a tool spindle () for receiving a tool and several drives (X, Y, Z, B, C, A) for machining the gear wheel in individual divisions. According to the invention, one tooth gap of the gear wheel is machined and then the tool is displaced in relation to the gear wheel in order to remove the tool from the tooth gap. The gear wheel is then rotated by a division and the tool is placed against the wheel again to machine another tooth gap. One of the drives (C) can be controlled in such a way that the relative displacement involves a tilting displacement, which modifies the relative angle between the tool and the gear wheel, the tilting displacement being co-ordinated with the displacement of a division.
