A door lock includes a latch driving device having a thumb turn that can be switched between a locking position not permitting movement of a latch to an unlatching position when an outer handle is pivoted and an unlocking position permitting movement of the latch to unlatching position when the outer handle is pivoted. The thumb turn includes an actuator controlling a switch to a conductive state or a non-conductive state. When the thumb turn is in the locking position, the switch is in the conductive state, and a lighting element controlled by the switch generates light transmitting through the first lid. When the thumb turn is in the unlocking position, the switch is in the non-conductive state, and the lighting element does not generate light. Thus, the locking or unlocking state of the door lock can be identified by sight.

Door lock capable of showing locking or unlocking state

A locking mechanism is provided for a portal closure that includes a first side, and a second side The portal closure including a latch movable into and out of engagement with a latch receiver and a latch driving device coupled to the latch for moving the latch into and out of engagement with the latch receiver The latch driving device includes a controllable lock member movable between a locked position where the latch is fixedly positioned in the latch receiver and an unlocked position where the latch is capable of being disengaged from the latch receiver and a second side latch driving device mover disposed on the second side of the portal closure. The locking mechanism includes a first side latch driving device mover disposed on the first side of the portal closures, and coupled to the latch driving device for moving the latch driving device to cause the latch to move into and out of engagement with the latch receiver. A signal generator is provided for generating a human detectable signal. A lock actuator is coupled to the controllable lock member for moving the locking mechanism between a first normal position wherein the second side lock driving device is capable of being moved between an unlocked position to permit the latch to be disengaged from the latch receiver and a locked position where the latch is prevented from being disengaged from the latch receiver; and a second emergency position wherein the second side lock driving device is in the locked position, and the signal generator is actuated to generate a human detectable signal. A power source is provided for powering the signal generator when the locking mechanism is in the second emergency position. A switch is coupled between the power source and the signal generator for controlling the flow of current between the power source and the signal generator.

A lock system is provided including a plurality of access point controls and at least one access memory device. The access memory device is configured to communicate information between access point controls.

Electronic access memory device and access point control

A security control system includes a remote access control system to receive wireless information from a central access control system. The remote access control system includes a remote access controller electrically coupled to a remote wireless communicator. The remote access controller receives information from the remote wireless communicator and uses the information to control locking and unlocking of the door. The remote wireless communicator also transmits wireless information to the central access control system and a switch is provided for selectively choosing between the receiving and transmitting the wireless information. The remote wireless communicator communicates via RF information, such as spread-spectrum RF. The remote access control system also includes a reader to read user data when presented to the reader.

A lock system is provided including a plurality of locksets and at least one token. The token is configured to communicate information between locksets.

Electronic token and lock

A lock system is provided including a lock core and a token. The lock core comprises a core body, a lock actuator coupled to the core body for rotation about an axis, a blocking body, and a solenoid. The solenoid has a shaft that is movable between a first position in which the blocking body is locked to prevent rotation of the lock actuator about the axis and a second position in which the blocking body is unlocked to allow rotation of the lock actuator about the axis. The token is couplable mechanically to the lock actuator. The solenoid moves the shaft from the first position to the second position so that the blocking body is unlocked if the token has a valid access code.

Electronic token and lock core

A lock system comprises a lock core and a token. The lock core comprises a core body, a lock actuator coupled to the core body for rotation about an axis, a blocker movable perpendicular with the axis, and an electromagnetic actuator. The electromagnetic actuator has a shaft that is movable parallel with the axis between a first position in which the blocker is locked to prevent rotation of the lock actuator about the axis and a second position in which the blocker is unlocked to allow rotation of the lock actuator about the axis. The token is couplable mechanically to the lock actuator. The electromagnetic actuator moves the shaft parallel with the axis from the first position to the second position so that the blocker is unlocked if the token has a valid access code.

A remote access control system includes a remote wireless communicator to receive wireless information from a central access control system. It also includes a remote access controller electrically coupled to the remote wireless communicator. The remote access controller would receive information from the remote wireless communicator and uses the information to control locking and unlocking of the door. The remote wireless communicator also transmits wireless information to the central access control system and a switch is provided for selectively choosing between the receiving and transmitting the wireless information. The remote wireless communicator communicates via RF information and preferably spread-spectrum RF. The remote access control system also includes a reader to read user data when presented to the reader.

A lock system comprises a lock core and a token having an access code. The lock core comprises a core body, a lock actuator coupled to the core body for rotation about an axis, a blocker movable between a locking position in which the lock actuator is prevented from rotating about the axis and a releasing position in which the lock actuator is permitted to rotate about the axis, an electric circuit having a token reader, and an electromagnetic actuator having a shaft that is movable parallel with the axis. The token is couplable mechanically to the lock actuator. The electric circuit signals the electromagnetic actuator to move the shaft parallel with the axis so that the blocker is movable from the locking position to the releasing position if the access code read by the token reader matches a valid access code.

Electronic token lock core

An integrated access system includes an access device, a locking mechanism, a sensor, a controller, and a video device. The controller is coupled to the locking mechanism and the sensor and controls the locking mechanism in response to the access device being detected by the sensor. The video device captures images of a presenter of the access device. A housing houses the sensor and the video device.

Integrated access system

A security system comprises a card containing access information, a reader for reading the card, a power source, a locking mechanism, and a first circuit for operating the locking mechanism. The power source is coupled to the first circuit to provide power to the first circuit. The power source is also coupled to a wake-up circuit to provide power to the wake-up circuit. The wake-up circuit detects the presence of an object and enables the reader to ascertain whether the object is the card. A method for operating the security system comprises first determining that electromagnetic energy is not being detected by the wake-up circuit, then determining that electromagnetic energy is being detected by the wake-up circuit, then determining that electromagnetic energy is not being detected by the wake-up circuit, and then ascertaining whether the object is the card.

Proximity card detection system

A lock core for use with a token having an access code and a blade is provided. The lock core includes a core body, a lock actuator coupled to the core body for movement, a token communicator configured to read the access code when the blade is inserted into a passageway of the lock actuator, at least one movable tumbler element, a movable blocker, a biasing member situated between the at least one tumbler element and the blocker, and an electromagnetic actuator coupled to the core body and coupled to the token communicator. Insertion of the token in the passageway moves the at least one tumbler element to store energy in the biasing member. If the token communicator reads the access code after insertion of the token in the passageway, the electromagnetic actuator moves to unlock the blocker and the biasing member releases energy to move the blocker.

A method and apparatus are provided for decoding bi-phase encoded data. The apparatus performs the steps of establishing a predicted bit cell length for a bit cell, detecting a leading clocking edge transition of the bit cell, detecting a first edge transition after the leading clocking edge transition, and calculating a first time interval from the leading clocking edge transition to the first detected edge transition. The apparatus also performs the steps of detecting a second edge transition after the leading clocking edge transition, calculating a second time interval from the leading clocking edge transition to the second detected edge transition, comparing both the first time interval and the second time interval to the predicted bit cell length, assigning a logical zero value to the bit cell if the first time interval is closer to the predicted bit cell length than the second time interval, and assigning a logical one value to the bit cell if the second time interval is closer to the predicted bit cell length than the first time interval.
