An electronic distribution and control device for the ignition of internal combustion engines, particularly for motor vehicles, having a computer with which is combined an ignition advance system the said computer processing signals supplied by detectors of limit positions between which the ignition must occur as a function of the speed of rotation of the engine, and by at least one sensor of one of the operational parameters of the engine, which signals are then amplified and fed to voltage step-up coils to produce an ignition spark between the electrodes of at least one sparking plug.

An ignition system for an internal combustion engine, in which system a position detector cooperates with an element driven in proportion to engine speed and supplies signals after shaping thereof, to a tachometric generator, the generator feeding an integrator which supplies a first voltage representative of the angular spacing from a reference position of said element, an amplifier in series with the integrator and supplying a second voltage as a function of engine speed, and a comparator receiving the sum of the first and second voltages and comparing it with a threshold voltage such that when said sum coincides with the threshold voltage, the comparator supplies an output signal used to trigger current in the ignition coil.

Ignition system for internal combustion engines

This invention provides a speed sensitive device for controlling the speed of an engine. A tachometric generator is provided which supplies a voltage or a function of the engine speed, and this is compared with a reference voltage which is a fraction of the voltage of the battery. In a first stage of the comparison the voltage supplied by the tachometric generator is compared with a reference voltage fixed by a dividing bridge, which determines a comparison threshold so that, when the voltage supplied by the tachometric generator exceeds this threshold, the first stage triggers a second stage of comparison, similar to the first, which compares the voltage from the first stage with another reference voltage fixed by a second dividing bridge, this second triggering causing actuation of a switching component to modify the ignition of the engine.

An ignition device for an internal combustion engine of the kind having an ignition coil comprising a primary winding and a secondary winding, a current limiting resistance connected in series with the primary winding and a contact breaker, wherein there is provided means which shunt said current limiting resistance for a predetermined time at each closure of the contacts of said contact breaker.
