A plain bearing may comprise a bearing substrate, a bearing overlay, and an interlayer disposed between the bearing substrate and the bearing overlay. The interlayer may comprise hexagonal boron nitride.

Plain bearing and method

A sliding engine component may include a plastic polymer-based composite layer on a substrate. The composite layer may include a matrix of plastic polymer-based material, and functionalised graphene nano platelets distributed throughout the matrix.

Sliding engine component

A sliding bearing and a method for its manufacture are disclosed. The sliding bearing may include a metallic substrate, an electrically insulating layer on the metallic substrate, and an electrical component on the electrically insulating layer. The sliding bearing may be operatively connected to a monitoring module configured to monitor the electrical component.

Sliding bearing with wear detection

A sliding engine component may include a substrate having a surface coated with a first electroplated metallic layer and a second electroplated metallic layer. The first metallic layer may be disposed between the substrate and the second metallic layer. The first metallic layer and the second metallic layer may have a grained structure. The grained structure of each of the first metallic layer and the second metallic layer may have an aspect ratio between a mean grain size perpendicular to the substrate surface and a mean grain size parallel to the substrate surface. The aspect ratio of the second metallic layer may be less than the aspect ratio of the first metallic layer.

A sliding engine component may include a sliding surface, and the sliding surface may include a plastic polymer-based layer disposed on a metallic substrate. The plastic polymer-based layer may have a composition including a plastic polymer-based material having distributed throughout the polymer-based material a thermochromic material configured to change color irreversibly when thermally activated by heating beyond a threshold thermal treatment condition. The polymer-based material may be cured.

A bearing element may include a bearing element substrate and a sliding layer applied to a surface of the bearing element substrate. The sliding layer may be formed of a sliding layer material. A surface roughness (Ra) of the surface of the bearing element substrate may be less than 1 &#x3bc;m. The sliding layer material may include a polymeric material and iron oxide. The sliding layer may have at least three layers of the sliding layer material.

Bearing element and method of manufacturing a bearing element

A sliding engine component may include a sliding surface including a plastics polymer-based composite layer disposed on a substrate. The composite layer may include a matrix of plastics polymer-based material. The plastics polymer-based material may have 0.1 to 20 percent by volume of liquid-filled microcapsules distributed throughout the matrix, and incidental impurities.

A method for treating exhaust gas condensates of an internal combustion engine, in which the exhaust gas condensates containing nitrogen oxides are delivered to an exhaust gas recirculation system and are cooled therein. The nitrogen oxides of the cooled exhaust gas condensates are converted to ammonia through electrolysis.
