Dissimilar pairs of identical parallel longitudinal grooves having enlarged U-shape central pockets open outwardly along opposite faces of a support block for pivotally receiving correspondingly dissimilar end fittings of cable conduits. A U-shape retainer detachably connects to the block to hold the end fittings in the grooves. The block is connected to a mounting plate in any one of a plurality of positions. In use, the block is turned to match corresponding grooves and end fittings and is connected to the plate to support the cable in a desired position.

Multiple-type cable mounting apparatus and method

A single lever control unit for sequentially operating a transmission and throttle and, selectively, for operating the throttle independently of the transmission. A throttle shaft assembly disengages from a throttle gear by pulling out the shaft while in the neutral position. A double key on the throttle shaft disengages from a keyway in the throttle gear and a spring-loaded pin engages a cavity in the throttle gear to lock both shift and throttle gears in the neutral position. Throttle only may then be applied. When the hand lever is returned to the neutral position, the throttle shaft automatically engages the throttle gear and the locking pin automatically disengages by means of spring loading. The locking pin prevents pulling out the shaft in other than the neutral position. A spring provides axial loading between the throttle arm connected to the shaft and a friction plate mounted on the shaft. This loading creates a frictional drag which prevents throttle creep. Additional throttle braking is achieved during throttling by means of an adjustable screw forcing a friction pad against a specially profiled side of the throttle gear. An adjustable flange accommodates a neutral interlock lever. The flange can be angularly oriented in any desired position.

A single lever control for controlling engine, said control having a housing, a throttle actuating arm and a clutch actuating arm operatively connected thereto for rotation only during the first portion of rotation of the throttle actuating arm, said arms adapted for connection to the cores of push-pull cables for opening and closing the throttle and operating the clutch of said engine, the improvement comprising a warm-up auxiliary throttle lever operatively attached to a bracket means slidably mounted on said housing, said bracket means attached to the throttle cable conduit to move the cable conduit relative to said throttle cable core thereby adjusting throttle setting of said engine, interlocking means including an interengaging means carried by said bracket means, said interengaging means when engaging the outer surface of said throttle actuating arm prohibits the movement of said auxiliary throttle lever when said single lever is moved generally away from its neutral position and said interengaging means when disposed a certain distance within a slot in said throttle actuating arm prohibits movement of said single lever when said single lever is moved generally to its neutral position.
