Dryer-added fabric conditioning articles and methods utilizing a fabric softener agent and a polymeric soil release agent. More specifically, damp fabrics are commingled with softener active and polymeric soil release agent in an automatic soil release benefits concurrently with the drying operation. The softening and antistatic soil release agents herein are preferably employed in combination with a dispensing means adapted for use in an automatic dryer.

Articles and methods for treating fabrics

Dryer-added fabric conditioning articles and methods utilizing a fabric softener agent and a polymeric soil release agent. More specifically, damp fabrics are commingled with softener active and polymeric soil release agent in an automatic clothes dryer and are provided with a soft, antistatic finish and soil release benefits concurrently with the drying operation. The softening and antistatic soil release agents herein are preferably employed in combination with a dispensing means adapted for use in an automatic dryer.

Disposable absorbent articles having an ion-exchanging topsheet are disclosed. By using topsheets which release protons upon exposure to body fluids, absorbent articles such as diapers can be realized which are effective for absorbing discharged body waste and which also are effective for lowering skin pH within the acid range. Lowering of skin pH to values within the range of from about 3.0 to 5.5, can serve to prevent or reduce diaper rash.
