A device in accordance with an embodiment of the present technology includes a port through which the device receives and dispenses infusion liquid (e.g., insulin solution) and a container that holds the infusion liquid. The device also includes a hub at a flowpath extending between the port and the container. The hub defines a first passage and a second passage in parallel with one another. The device further includes a conditioner and a check valve at the first and second passages, respectively. The conditioner conditions liquid moving between the container and the port by passing the liquid through an adsorbent filter and a mechanical filter. The check valve causes liquid moving between the port and the container to move preferentially via the first passage when flowing in one direction and to move preferentially via the second passage when flowing in an opposite direction.

Device for transferring and conditioning infusion liquid and related technology

Disclosed herein are techniques related to insertion of a fluid conduit (e.g., tubing connected to a fluid reservoir or a cannula sharing a pre-assembled fluid pathway with such tubing). In some embodiments, an insertion mechanism may include one or more springs (e.g., a torsion spring or a compression spring). The one or more springs may cause a trocar or a trocar slider to pierce tissue and insert the fluid conduit. The one or more springs may further cause the trocar or the trocar slider to be removed from the tissue.

According to an aspect, a cannula insertion mechanism includes a seal and a cannula carrier. The seal is configured to surround an opening of a housing, the seal including a first seal surface and a second seal surface, the first seal surface facing toward the opening, and the second seal surface facing away from the opening. The cannula carrier is configured to drive a cannula in a first direction through the opening of the housing, the cannula carrier having a first carrier surface and a second carrier surface, the first carrier surface being configured to exert a compression force on the second seal surface when the cannula carrier drives the cannula in the first direction, thereby causing the first seal surface to expand in a second direction to engage the second carrier surface via a clamping force.

This disclosure is directed to pulsed spectropolarimeters for conducting remote, non-perturbative measurements of the local magnetic field, density and temperature fields of a magnetized plasma medium. In one aspect, a pulsed spectropolarimeter includes a light source emitting a polarized light pulse having sufficiently narrow spatial extent at a prescribed wavelength and a light gathering optical system including a light gathering optic having an optic axis directed toward the medium and positioned to collect and collimate a predetermined solid angle of the scattered emission by the pulse in the backward direction, toward the source, while preserving the polarization state of the emission. A proportion of the emission is redirected to a spectrometer detector to determine the spectral distribution of the emission. A second optical collection and spectrometer system collects emission other than backscatter localized to the intersection of the pulse trajectory and the focus of this collection system.

Infusion devices are disclosed herein. The present technology includes, for example, an infusion device for delivering a medicament to a body of a user. The device can comprise an insertion assembly comprising a cannula, a reservoir assembly comprising a reservoir configured to receive a medicament, and a trigger assembly configured to trigger insertion of the cannula into the user in response to a command from a remote computing device communicatively coupled to the infusion device.
