A tool configured to facilitate installation or removal of a seal sub from an annular structure includes a support structure configured to be coupled to the annular structure, a shaft extending axially from the support structure, and an engaging structure coupled to the shaft. The engaging structure includes a plurality of engaging members, and each of the plurality of engaging members is configured to move in a radial direction between a retracted position that enables the engaging structure to be inserted into the seal sub and an extended position that enables the respective engaging member of the plurality of engaging members to engage the seal sub.

System and method for installing or removing a seal sub from a riser

A subsea system including a frame including an intensifier, the intensifier providing structural support to the frame and capable of providing pressurized delivery fluid. The intensifier includes an intensifier chamber and a delivery fluid chamber separated by a piston, the intensifier chamber capable of receiving ambient pressure to provide a pressure on the delivery fluid through the piston. Also, a regulation system regulates the amount of ambient pressure communicated to the intensifier chamber to maintain the delivery fluid pressure substantially constant as the delivery fluid is depleted.

Subsea pressure delivery system

A fluid recovery system is provided. In one embodiment, the fluid recovery system includes a telescoping joint of a marine riser having an inner barrel and an outer barrel configured to extend and retract with respect to one another when installed as part of the marine riser. A drip pan is coupled to the outer barrel to enable the drip pan to catch fluid, such as drilling mud, leaking from the telescoping joint between the inner barrel and the outer barrel. In this embodiment, the fluid recovery system also includes a pump and a return conduit that are coupled to enable the pump to pump caught fluid from the drip pan back into the telescoping joint via the return conduit. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

Drilling mud recovery system

An automatic locking mechanism for a telescoping joint for a riser functions in several modes. In an operating mode, the joint is free to have its inner and outer barrels move with respect to each other without engaging each other in a locking relationship. In a second position, the telescoping joint locks when it is fully retracted. In a third position, the system locks the inner and outer barrels together to hold them in a fixed position. The inner and outer barrels are locked when a movable sleeve is properly positioned to allow spring-loaded dogs to be biased through windows in the sleeve so as to act as a landing shoulder to catch a groove on the outer barrel. By putting the actuating sleeve in a variety of positions, the various modes of the locking assembly can be deployed.
