A clamping insulator for securing electrical wires to support structures comprising an insulating second clamp member, and an insulating first clamp member that is hingebly connected to the insulating second clamp member and an eyebolt, wherein the hinge is positioned at an angle relative to the electrical wire, the first clamp member is simply flipped over upon the second clamp member to secure the wire in place, the eyebolt both secures the first and second clamp members in the closed position and allows easy access for a lineman with a hot stick, and, in the closed position, the eyebolt is positioned at a compound angle relative to the ground and supporting structure it sits upon to provide easy access for a hot stick.

A clamping insulator for securing electrical wires to support structures includes an insulating second clamp member, and an insulating first clamp member that is hingebly connected to the insulating second clamp member and an eyebolt, wherein the hinge is positioned at an angle relative to the electrical wire, the first clamp member is simply flipped over upon the second clamp member to secure the wire in place, the eyebolt both secures the first and second clamp members in the closed position and allows easy access for a lineman with a hot stick, and, in the closed position, the eyebolt is positioned at a compound angle relative to the ground and supporting structure it sits upon to provide easy access for a hot stick.

A nut for a channel of a strut is disclosed. In one embodiment, the length of the nut is greater than the width of the nut. In one embodiment, the first end surface of the nut meets the first side surface at a first rounded corner, and the second end surface meets the second side surface of the nut at a second rounded corner (opposite the first rounded corner). In one embodiment, the first side surface includes a first protrusion at a third corner adjacent the first rounded corner and the second side surface includes a second protrusion at a fourth corner adjacent the second rounded corner. In one embodiment, the first rounded corner and the second rounded corner allow the nut to be rotated in a channel of a strut. In one embodiment, the third corner and the fourth corner disallow further rotation in the channel of the strut.

A grounding lug for an electrical conduit fitting includes a support ring sized to slide over a threaded portion of a conduit fitting body and a conductor securing portion having a channel to receive an externally-mounted conducting wire. The grounding lug also includes an extension arm configured to secure the support ring to the conductor securing portion, and a sealing ring, secured along an inside diameter of the support ring. The sealing ring is configured to form a seal between the support ring and the conduit fitting body. The grounding lug is configured to be freely rotated around the threaded portion of the conduit fitting body to position the conductor securing portion in a desired orientation after partial installation of the electrical conduit fitting.

A cover for a conduit body device for accommodating wire therethrough including: a substantially flat elongated portion with at least two butterfly-shaped clips located at opposite ends of the elongated portion, wherein the butterfly-shaped clips are designed to engage the interior of the conduit body device. In one aspect, the present invention may include at least one ledge on the cover. In addition, a conduit body device and cover system for accommodating wire therethrough.

The conduit body assembly includes a metallic conduit body having an open upper end and a metallic cover removably positionable over the upper end. A metallic threaded fastener secures the cover to the body. The metallic fastener includes a threaded post and a nut removably attached to one end of the post. The nut and the post are formed of similar non-corrosive materials so as to resist corrosion therebetween. The nut is removable from the post in an environment where corrosion between the metallic fastener and the conduit body and cover prevents removal of the threaded fastener therefrom. Removal of the nut from the threaded post permits removal of the cover from the conduit body.

A conduit body assembly includes a conduit body having a layer of lubrication material thereon to aid in pulling wires therethrough. The conduit body includes an elongate side wall, an open upper end and a conduit body interior. At least one hub is in communication with said body interior for passage of wires therethrough. A layer of lubrication material having a low coefficient of friction is adhered to at least on portion of the surface of the body interior.

An aspect of the present invention provides a conduit body assembly. The conduit body assembly has a conduit body with a closed lower end and a side wall surrounding the lower end. The side wall includes a planar perimetrical rim which defines an open upper end. Also, the conduit body assembly has a cover to enclose the open upper end. A deformable flexible flange extends from the at least one cover hole for engagement with a conical portion of a fastener in order to maintain alignment with and effect a seal between the cover and the fastener.

A conduit body device for accommodating wire therethrough the device is provided. The conduit body has a body wall including a pair of elongate side walls and a pair of end walls forming a perimetrical side wall, a bottom wall, and an open end defining a body interior. The conduit body further includes a longitudinal axis located generally along the elongate side walls. At least two hub passageways extend from the conduit body in communication with the body interior, each of the hub passageways including a hub wall defining an access channel for passage of wires therethrough. The hub passageways may be generally located in non-axial alignment with said longitudinal axis. In some embodiments the bottom wall has a broad curved shape. In other embodiments, the open end may be angled for ease of access.

An aspect of the invention is provides a clamping shell for placement about an elongate pipe for accommodating a chain vise thereover, the clamping shell having: a pair of elongate generally arcuate half-shells, each half shell having an internal portion for engagement with the pipe, the internal portion including a non-uniform surface for frictional engagement with the pipe; and at least one of the half-shells of the pair including a pocket formed on an external surface thereof for supporting the chain vise therein.

In an aspect of the subject invention, a conduit body assembly is provided. The conduit body assembly has a conduit body having a closed lower end, a side wall surrounding the lower end, the side wall including a planar perimetrical rim defining an open upper end. A cover is positionable over the perimetrical rim of the side wall for enclosing the open upper end. A sealing member is formed onto the cover for engagement against the planar rim of the side wall for effecting a seal therebetween.

This invention pertains to a cord connector that both seals and provides strain relief automatically upon wire insertion. The cord connector comprises a wire passageway through a pliable shell which seals around both the wire inserted through the passageway as well as the knock-out or wall opening into which the connector is secured. A more rigid skeleton supports this shell and is provided with appendages which permit the wire to pass through the passageway but which block or resist any removal of the wire from the passageway. Preferably the shell is over-molded over the skeleton for ease of manufacture.

A conduit body provides for the accommodation of wire extending therethrough. The conduit body includes a body wall having an elongate side wall, a bottom wall and an open end defining a body interior. At least one hub extends from the body wall in communication with the body interior. The hub includes a hub wall defining an access channel for passage of wire therethrough. The hub wall includes a guide surface outwardly of the body wall and protruding into the channel for maintaining a bend radius of the wire passing from the body interior through the channel.

A universal insert aids in wire pulling through a conduit body. The insert includes a first flange; a second flange shorter than the first flange; and a curvilinear portion connecting the first and second flanges. A lower surface of the curvilinear portion and a lower portion of the first flange together define a smooth transition surface. The universal insert may be used in conjunction with any conventional conduit body.
