A modular poultry automatic injection and spraying apparatus (10) featuring a dual-sensor switch means (41) and a dual-action, fluid-actuated drive means (101) is disclosed. The apparatus has a casing construction (11) including an upper housing (12) mounted on a lower housing (13) such that the lower housing (13), which contains water-sensitive pneumatic logic circuitry (261), can be easily removed prior to cleaning. The casing construction (11) has the additional advantage of allowing substitute upper and lower housings (12, 13) to be interchanged during maintenance and repair. The dual sensor switch means (41) ensures that the injections are performed accurately and consistently. The dual-action, fluid-actuated drive means (101) allows for the simultaneous injection and spraying functions of the apparatus (10) obviating the need for an additional apparatus or separate compressed air signal. The apparatus (10) also features a compressed air flushing system which prevents the switch means (41) from clogging, and periodically flushes contaminants from the lower housing (13), using exhaust from an alarm means (71), which notifies an operator of a complete run. Additionally, a separation means (21) prevents chicks, y missed by the apparatus (10) due to operator error, from mixing with chicks already inoculated by the apparatus (10).

A high-speed, high-current making switch is provided which has a driver which forms an air cylinder in the housing and which has movable contacts attached thereto. The driver moves the contacts to make and break the circuit. The force to move the driver is provided by pressurized air within the housing chamber which in response to the operation of a solenoid which operates a latch allows the contacts to make very rapidly. Upon operation of the solenoid, the latch is removed from abutting contact with the driver thereby allowing the driver to move in response to the air pressure and make the circuit.

A plastic fastener assembly is provided which has a base with an upstanding stab which has a single first tooth formed on one side of the stab and at least one second tooth formed on the opposite side of the stab. A cover defines an opening for receiving the stab. The cover has a control rail adjacent the opening and a flap extending into the opening opposite the central rail. The rail slides along the surface of the first tooth during assembly and urges the first tooth and stab toward the flap until the rail engages the notch of the first tooth. The flap automatically moves from the base during assembly as the first tooth and stab move toward the flap. The flap engages the second tooth when assembled inhibiting separation of the stab and cover.

Fastener having dual teeth

A one-piece, slam-type latch for snap-in installation in an orifice of a door is provided for maintaining the door in a closed position relative to a door frame having an extending keeper means. The latch includes a first portion having a generally rectangular configuration, and a second portion extending normally outward from the first portion for insertion through the orifice. One end of the second portion is in integral attachment with one side of the first portion. The other end of the second portion is provided with at least one indentation for interlocking engagement with the keeper means. A leaf spring is integrally attached to the second portion and extends angularly from the second portion toward the first portion. The latch is further provided with a third portion in integral engagement with the first and second portions. The third portion extends planarly outward from the first portion. The third portion has an auriculate recess provided with a first lobe extending inwardly toward the first portion and a second lobe extending planarly opposite the first lobe to define a thin-walled section of the third portion. The thin-walled section of the third portion is sufficiently pliable so that the third portion may be deformed.

One-piece, slam-type latch for snap-in installation

An electric distribution panel is constructed with an insulating base formed by extrusion. Also extruded with the base are two rows of circuit breaker mounting ledges, hook formations for each of the mounting ledges to mechanically secure circuit breakers at the load ends thereof, and channel defining formations to slidably receive neutral bars disposed outboard of each of the mounting ledges. A tie bar extends transverse to the neutral bars and provides an electrical connection therebetween. Wiring guide elements are slidably received by appropriate formations of the base and in particular the base is provided with elongated apertures to receive annular embossments of one of the wiring guides elements so as to permit expansion of the base without buckling thereof even though the mounting surface for the distribution device does not expand at the same rate as the base.

Method of forming electric distribution panel

A main lug is secured to a neutral bar so as to be mounted at a selected position along the length of the latter. An insulating element constituting a wireway barrier is selectively positionable on the bar along with the lug, and is held in operative position by the latter.

The front trim of a panelboard consists of a front plate having an interior opening surrounded by a rearwardly extending lip, and a face plate having a forwardly extending lip disposed in telescoping relationship with respect to the lip of the front plate. Adjusting means are provided to move the face plate forward and rearward while the front plate and the panelboard interior remain stationary. The face plate is provided with twist-outs which are pressed forward so that during removal thereof they cannot be punched to the rear into engagement with live conductors of the panelboard interior.

Plug-in stabs formed integrally with a bus bar for mechanically and electrically connecting with circuit breakers, or the like, are shaped so as to have mutually perpendicular contact plug-in elements on a single stab unit enabling the single stab unit to receive circuit breaker contacts that are oriented in mutually perpendicular directions. The single stab unit includes a forwardly extending stab in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bus bar and a pair of forwardly extending elongated rectangular stab sections disposed in spaced parallel planes that are perpendicular to the plane of the bus bar and parallel to the longitudinal axis thereof. Each stab section constitutes first and second stabs positioned on opposite sides of the central stab.

Integral bus bar contact stab structure

A panelboard is constructed with a line terminal array in a row midway between mechanical parallel elongated support means for the circuit breaker load ends. Disposed outboard of and extending parallel to each support means is an elongated neutral bar having a plurality of load wire grips thereon. Main lugs for energizing the line terminal array are disposed at one end thereof, and at the other end thereof a connecting bar extends between the neutral bars for an electrical interconnection therebetween.
