Disclosed are a programmable switch array which provides tactical feel indication of activation to a user. The switch array includes a display device adapted to display switch information. A glass plate is positioned in front of the display device. Multiple switching mechanisms are positioned behind the glass plate. One or more pivot members are positioned behind the glass plate and disposed such that upon the user pushing upon a region of the glass plate, the glass plate pivots about the pivot member and actuates a corresponding one of the multiple switching mechanisms. The pivoting of the glass plate provides the user a tactical feel indication of the activation of the switch.

Programmable switch array with tactical feel

An aircraft ice detector system includes a radar system. The radar system provides a radar signal to a surface of the aircraft and determines whether ice is present based upon a reflected radar signal. The system can determine the type and the quantity of ice present based upon the reflected radar signal. The system can be mounted within a wing or on an external surface of the aircraft. The radar signal is preferably a low power signal.

An improved microwave radar antenna including a plurality of linear waveguides arranged in a two dimensional array with each linear waveguide having a mounting flange along the bottom narrow edge of the waveguide for attachment to the ground plane of the antenna by the conductive epoxy. Also disclosed is a method of manufacturing an improved microwave antenna where flanged linear waveguides are milled to provide for radiator slots and then are affixed to a attentive ground plane along the flanged edge of the waveguide by a conductive epoxy.

A liquid crystal display having enhanced viewing brightness and brightness uniformity which utilizes a plurality of reflective dots disposed on the lamp side of a diffuser which is positioned between a back lamp and the viewing surface so that light emitted from the back lamp is reflected off of the reflective dots back to a reflector assembly positioned behind the back lamp and is then reflected back toward the light diffuser in a direction toward the viewing surface.
