In a compressor and driving motor assembly, the driving motor is a hybrid permanent magnet motor and/or has a rotor mounted directly on the drive shaft of the compressor, the drive shaft acting as a cantilever supporting the rotor.

Separator tank assembly and method of manufacture

An air compressor system having a cast separator tank for use with an oil-flooded air compressor. The cast separator tank including an integrally cast air-end inlet opening which is mountable in face-to-face engagement with an air-end discharge opening of the compressor; an integrally cast first channel which extends between the air-end inlet opening and a separation chamber; an integrally cast second channel which communicates with a lower portion of the separation chamber and which extends along an outer portion of the cast separator tank; and an integrally cast lip which extends around an inner wall of the separation chamber. The integrally cast air-end inlet opening which is mounted to the discharge opening of the compressor, serves as a mounting foot, and supports the compressor on its discharge end. The compressor system further having a motor, such that the compressor, the motor and the cast separator tank are attached to from a single unit for ease of handling. The compressor system also has a plurality of mounting feet for attachment to an appropriate sub-base.

Air compressor system and an air/oil cast separator tank for the same

An air compressor system having an air/oil separator for use with an air compressor, the air/oil separator including a separator tank having a side wall with an air exit port; a separator element hold down mechanism between the separator element and a lid mounted on the separator tank; and a separator element oil scavenge device which scavenges oil from the bottom of the separator element and passes the scavenged oil through the side wall of the separator tank. A method of replacing a separation element in a separation chamber of the air/oil separator including the steps of removing the separator element from the separation chamber without disconnecting the scavenge device attached thereto, and positioning a replacement separator element within the separation chamber, such that a scavenge device securely affixed thereto is caused to communicate with the side wall of the separator tank.

Compressor system including a separator tank with a separator element positioned therein

A separator tank assembly for use in a fluid compression system includes a separator element having a base, a support element mounted to the separator element, and a scavenge tube. The scavenge tube has a first end and a second end. The scavenge tube is fixed to the support element so that the first end of the scavenge tube is located at a predetermined position relative to the base of the separator element. The separator tank assembly also includes a tank housing having an outer flange at a top end thereof. The tank housing is dimensioned to receive the separator element. The separator tank assembly further includes a tank cover to attach to the outer flange of the tank housing. The tank cover has a cover orifice, and the separator tank assembly includes an adapter extending through the cover orifice. The adapter has a first section to connect to the second end of the scavenge tube and a second section to connect to a line component of the fluid compression system.

Separator tank assembly for a fluid compressor

A variable oil flow regulator for minimizing noise generated typically by an oil-injected rotary screw compressor when the compressor transitions from an on-load mode for compressing fluid to an off-load mode. The regulator includes a housing having a first end, a second end and a chamber formed therein extending between the first and second ends. The regulator also includes a first port formed at the first end of the housing for admitting a pressure signal into the chamber corresponding to a compression level of the fluid, a second port formed at the second end of the housing for admitting the oil into the chamber, and a third port formed in the housing between the first and second ends of the housing for discharging the oil admitted into the chamber through the second port. The regulator further comprises a piston slidably disposed in the chamber between the first and second ends of the housing, the piston having a first end in fluid communication with the pressure signal and a second end in fluid communication with the oil. The piston is movable into a first position for allowing unrestricted flow of the oil between the second and third ports when the compressor is in the on-load mode and into a second position for restricting flow of the oil between the second and third ports when the compressor is in the off-load mode, the position of the piston being dependent upon the pressure differential between the pressure signal and the oil.

Variable oil flow regulator and method therefor

A compressor including a prime mover having an output element which supplies a motive force produced by the prime mover; a compression module having an input element; a tensioned belt connecting the prime mover output element and the compression module input element to transmit the motive force from the prime mover to the compression module, and a self-adjusting belt tensioning member for applying a substantially constant tensioning force to the belt to maintain substantially constant the predetermined required belt tension. The compressor also includes an anchor bracket connected to the compression module, and a locator plate connected to the anchor bracket, the locator plate being movable relative to the anchor bracket, the anchor bracket having a stop member for limiting movement of the locator plate.
