The present invention relates to a semi-conductive polymer composition, the present invention provides a semi-conductive polymer composition comprising an ethylene copolymer comprising polar co-monomer units; an olefin homo- or copolymer; and a conductive filler; wherein the olefin homo- or copolymer has a degree of crystallinity below 20%. The invention also relates to a wire or cable comprising said semi-conductive polymer composition, and to the use of said composition for the production of a layer, preferably a semi-conducting shield layer of a wire or cable.

The present invention relates to a polymer composition comprising a surfactant interacting additive, and wherein the polymer composition further comprises at least one silanol condensation catalyst, wherein each catalyst is selected from: i) a compound of formula I ArSOH (I) or a precursor thereof, wherein Ar is an 1 to 4 alkyl groups substituted aryl, wherein the aryl is phenyl or naphthyl, and wherein each alkyl group, independently, is a linear or branched alkyl with 10 to 30 carbons, wherein the total number of carbons in the alkyl groups is in the range of 20 to 80 carbons; ii) a derivative of i) selected from the group consisting of an anhydride, an ester, an acetylate, an epoxy blocked ester and an amine salt thereof which is hydrolysable to the corresponding compound of formula I; and iii) a metal salt of i) wherein the metal ion is selected from the group consisting of copper, aluminum, tin and zinc; an article, for example, a coating, a wire or a cable, comprising the polymer composition, a process for producing an article and use of the polymer composition.

A copolymer of ethylene with silane groups containing comonomer that is produced in a high pressure radical polymerization process comprising the steps of: (a) compressing ethylene together with the silane groups containing comonomer under pressure in a compressor, wherein a compressor lubricant is used for lubrication, (b) polymerizing ethylene together with the silane groups containing comonomer in a polymerization zone, (c) separating the obtained ethylene from the unreacted products and recovering the separated ethylene copolymer in a recovery zone, wherein in step a) the compressor lubricant comprises a mineral oil and ethylene copolymer has a silane groups containing comonomer content of 0.5 to 3 wt % and an MFR2 of 0.3 to 10 g/10 min. The co-polymer of ethylene with silane groups containing comonomer can be used.

High pressure radial polymerisation process for a copolymer of ethylene silane groups containing comonomer

The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing polyethylene-silane-copolymer conducted in a plant including at least one compressor unit and at least one reactor downstream of the compressor unit. The process includes the steps of (a) feeding a first feed stream including ethylene into the at least one compressor unit and subsequently to the at least one reactor, and (b1) feeding a second feed stream including at least one silane comonomer to the at least one reactor as front feed and/or (b2) feeding a second feed stream including at least one silane comonomer to the at least one reactor at at least one location along the reactor.

The present invention relates to the use of a silicon containing compound for reducing the retention time of a polyolefin composition comprising a crosslinkable polyolefin with hydrolysable silane groups. A master batch is compounded with the polyolefin composition to form a compounding composition. The master batch comprises a matrix polymer, a Bronsted acid that is a silanol condensation catalyst and is present in the amount of 0.7 to 3.5 wt %, and a silicon containing compound with a structure according to the formula (I): (R)[Si(R)(R)]wherein Ris Calkyl, Ris Calkoxy, Ris &#x2014;RSiRR, Ris &#x2014;(CH)(CH)&#x2014; where Y is a difunctional heteroatomic group, x+y+z=4, and m=1. The silicon containing compound is 2 to 10 wt % of the master batch, and 0.01 to 1.5 wt % of the compounding composition.
