The present disclosure relates to an engine system () for a vehicle (), comprising, an internal combustion engine (), a lubrication system () arranged to lubricate the internal combustion engine () and a first lubrication pump () arranged to supply lubricant to the lubrication system (). The first lubrication pump () is configured to be powered by an auxiliary power source (), wherein the lubrication system () is further arranged to supply lubricant to at least one auxiliary component () of the engine system () which requires to be lubricated when in use, and wherein the lubrication system () comprises at least one valve () for selectively shutting off lubricant supply to the at least one auxiliary component (). Engine system and method for a vehicle

The invention relates to an engine oil system () for supplying oil to oil using components () in a vehicle (). The engine oil system comprises an oil pan () for holding oil received from the oil using components, an oil pump () fluidly connected to the oil pan for pumping oil from the oil pan to the oil using components, and an oil filter () configured for cleaning the oil. The oil filter has a filter inlet () for receiving oil to be cleaned, and a filter outlet () for discharging oil from the oil filter. The oil filter is arranged in the oil pan such that, in use, the filter outlet discharges oil into the oil pan.

Engine oil system and a lid

A filter insert for being removably arranged in a filter housing includes a first connection arrangement for engaging a corresponding second connection arrangement of a filter housing lid for a connection to the filter housing lid. The first connection arrangement is arranged to simultaneously prevent a relative rotational movement between the filter insert and the filter housing lid and allow a relative axial movement between the filter insert and the filter housing lid.

Oil pump assembly for a vehicle lubrication system

An engine oil system according to the disclosure comprises an oil pump connected to an oil sump, an oil cooler connected to the oil pump and an oil filter. The oil filter is connected to an engine. The engine oil system further comprises a first by-pass conduit connected to the oil pump and which is arranged to be connected to a component of the engine oil system other than the oil cooler. The first by-pass conduit comprises a first by-pass valve, wherein, in a first mode, the first by-pass valve is in an open state allowing oil to by-pass the oil cooler, and wherein, in a second mode, the first by-pass valve is in a closed state directing the oil through the oil cooler. The disclosure also relates to a vehicle comprising an engine oil system.

Engine oil system

A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle powertrain includes an internal combustion engine and an electric vehicle traction motor, an engine lubrication oil pump in fluid communication with a lubrication oil flow circuit for the internal combustion engine, an electric oil pump drive motor drivingly connected to the lubrication oil pump, and a powertrain control module. The powertrain control module is configured to start the electric oil pump drive motor immediately upon the initial start of the vehicle.
