A photoresist laminate includes a substrate (such as PET film having a thickness of between about 0.002-0.003 inches) with first and second faces, a first film layer, and a second layer. The first film layer is a photoresist material (radiation sensitive) which is soluble or dispersible in water but which will harden upon sufficient exposure to radiation so as to become substantially insoluble or non-dispersible. The first film layer may be of any conventional photoresist material (e.g. having a thickness of about 0.002-0.009 inches) and is operatively disposed on the substrate first face (either directly contacting it or connected to a membrane support layer which in turn is directly connected to the substrate first face). The second layer is of a material and thickness so that it substantially prevents sticking of the first film layer to other surfaces, while not significantly interfering with the radiation sensitivity thereof. The second layer is on the opposite side of the first film layer from the substrate, and may comprise a mixture of polyvinyl alcohol solution and polyvinyl acetate emulsion, having a thickness of less than 0.0005 inches (e.g. about 0.0001-0.0002 inches). The laminate is used in a method of making a stencil for abrading or etching by exposing the laminate to radiation, processing a laminate by spraying water on the laminate to remove the soluble or dispersible portion, and then using the stencil so formed as a mask on the surface of an object to etch or abrade the surface.

Non-stick photoresist laminate

An synthetic wood composite ball bat (10) having no wood components comprises a rigid shell of fiber reinforced composite material filled with expansible urethane foam to develop compressive stressed therebetween. The foam is locked to the shell during the manufacturing process by use of an intermediate dry woven fiber tube into which resin from the composite shell flows during curing of the composite shell and into which urethane foam flows during expansion of the urethane foam filler.

Simulated wood composite ball bat

A hollow metal tube and method making same are disclosed in which the tube includes a reinforcing sleeve compressively engaged with the interior of the tube. The sleeve is formed of carbon fibers in an epoxy matrix. The method of making the tube results in the wall of the tube being compressed against the sleeve, which imparts a high rate of wall recovery if the tube is impacted. Accordingly, the article is particularly useful as a ball bat or other tubular structure which may be subjected to external forces or impact.

Tubular metal ball bat internally reinforced with fiber composite

An apparatus for providing selective electrical coupling between a pair of mating coaxial connectors. The assembly includes an outer casing, an inner casing, and a sleeve therebetween. The inner casing is rotatably disposed about a common axis with the outer casing within the outer casing. The inner casing is internally threaded at one end for attaching to one of a pair of mating coaxial connectors. The sleeve is rotatably disposed about the common axis between the outer and inner casings with the sleeve and inner casing being rotatably retained with the outer casing. A pair of ball sockets are formed in the inner casing with each containing a ball therein. The sleeve has a pair of axial grooves which when aligned with the ball sockets permit the other one of the pair of mating connectors to be inserted and moved within the inner casing. When the axial grooves are offset in alignment from the ball sockets, the balls protrude into the inner casing hollow interior and retain the other mating connector in a selected one of two positions. In the two positions the other mating coaxial connector is respectively engaged and disengaged from electrical contact with the one mating connector.

Security connector assembly for mating coaxial connectors

A shell forming the walls of a bat comprising a striking portion, an intermediate portion and a handle portion. The shell is filled with structural foam. The striking portion is closed by a weighted cap and the handle portion is closed by a knob. The cap and knob are secured to the shell by stud or by a connecting rod. The stud receiving device has a plurality of fins which extend outwardly therefrom. The fins fit in corresponding slots formed in either end of the bat. The stud receiving device is internally threaded as are the cap and knob. A threaded stud is then used to secure the cap and knob to their respective ends. The shell is over-wrapped with woven or braided composite-type materials, such as graphite, KEVLAR, glass and boron.
