A hair styling device with a stretchable, relatively long body portion extending between two ends thereof having a first end clasp member and a second end clasp member each provided at a corresponding one of the opposing ends thereof capable of being at least in part positionable about at least a part of the other. The first and second end clasp members each have a passageway therethrough into which a corresponding body portion end extends with the body portion ends each having a passage blocking object thereon, and being sufficiently narrow to prevent the body end extending therethrough with a blocking object thereon from passing through that narrow part. The blocking member can be a spherical shaped solid wedging the body portion ends into a tapered sides portion of the passageway in each clasp member.

Elastic hair styling device

In a weaving device, a weaving device frame mounts a plurality of eyelets. A frame module, releasably borne by the weaving device frame is readily detachable from and controls movement of the respective eyelets. The frame module forms a readily removable component of the weaving device.

A system for transporting film through photographic-type processing uses a pair of flexible belts which have grooves to receive and guide the edges of the film in loose frictional engagement, and a drive and support system for moving the belts and film through a processing step. The groove in the belts is larger than the thickness of the film such that a particular place on a film edge is not tightly contacted, yet there is enough contact, and varying points of contact along the film, so that over an extended length of film there is sufficient frictional engagement to control and transport the film. Multiple stage processes have separate belt-drive systems, with aligned take-up and unload zones wherein the belts are moved into or away from contact with the film, to effect automatic handoff of the film to succeeding stages. An accumulator is provided at the end of the process, to receive and hold the film(s) on a first in, first out basis. A pair of flexible belts move the film between a pair of hoops in a loose roll, and older films can be removed from the open center.

Edge-belt film handling system for film processors and accumulators

Disclosed is a composition for repelling pests (e.g. insects and birds) from an animal carcass. This pest repelling composition contains a repellant (e.g. pepper extract) in admixture with a fluid vehicle, such as a light cooking oil. The repellant is present in a sufficient concentration to repel a pest when it contacts the animal carcass to which the composition has been applied. The composition may also include salt to help preserve the animal. The composition is applied to the exterior of the carcass. Repeated applications may be performed. The invention also includes a process for making the pest repelling composition.

Protective coating for carcasses

An intravenous drip rate control device includes a control valve having horizontally oriented valve members each provided with valve elements arranged in interdigitating relation with respect to each other. A drip rate sensor senses each intravenous drip and produces an electrical signal in response to each drip. A microprocessor unit compares the sensed drip rate to a preset drip rate and controls operation of an actuating unit which causes one of the valve members to shift toward and away from the other valve member. When one of the valve members is shifted toward the other valve member, a horizontal portion of the drip tube is progressively stretched to narrow the opening through the stretched portion of the tube and thereby reduce the drip rate. When the valve member is shifted away from the other valve member, the tension on the stretched portion of the tube will be progressively released, thereby increasing the opening in the tube and increasing the drip rate.

Intravenous drip rate control device

A portable power supply including a rechargeable battery, an array of solar cells, a heat sink thermally engaging the cells and the batteries for transmission from the former to the latter, and a cover pivotal between a first position in which it protects the solar cells and a second position in which it supports the unit with the cells in optimum orientation for insulation.

Solar energy recharger

Automatic photographic developing apparatus in which the photographic material to be developed is placed in a cylindrical drum. The drum is laid on its side on a set of rollers, one of which causes it to rotate. A plurality of containers for various photographic liquids are provided with valve arrangements by which their contents are delivered either in total or in measured increments to the rotating drum. The drum is mounted in a cradle so that it can be tilted to drain liquids from it. Specific details are given of the drum, its driving and cradle tilting components, the liquid dispensing and metering components, and the program control apparatus whereby the photographic materials may be treated with selected solutions in selected orders for predetermined intervals.
