In some aspects, a device comprising an implant configured for insertion into a portion of human anatomy, and at least one covering coupled to the implant is provided. According to some aspects, the implant comprises one or more protrusions configured to prevent leakage of material and/or to resist displacement of the implant. According to some aspects, the covering is configured to facilitate improved leakage and/or implant displacement prevention.

Implant and covering methods and apparatus

An implant constituted of: a body exhibiting a longitudinal axis; proximal arms extending from the body, each of the proximal arms extending in a respective direction and exhibiting a respective acute angle with the longitudinal axis, the body positioned between the proximal arms; distal arms extending from the body, each of the distal arms extending in a respective direction and exhibiting a respective acute angle with the longitudinal axis, the respective directions of extension of the distal arms generally opposing the respective directions of extension of the proximal arms, the body positioned between the distal arms; and intermediate arm assemblies extending from the body, each of the intermediate arm assemblies extending in a respective direction rotated about the longitudinal axis from the respective extension directions of the proximal arms and exhibiting a respective acute angle with the longitudinal axis, the body positioned between the intermediate arm assemblies.

Implant

An apparatus configured to control a lead extraction tool for assisting in removal of an implanted lead. The apparatus comprises at least one valve configured to control fluid flow to the lead extraction tool. When the at least one valve is open, the at least one valve is configured to allow fluid stored in the apparatus to flow thereby applying, when the apparatus is fluidly coupled to the lead extraction tool, fluid pressure to at least one component of the lead extraction tool. The apparatus further comprises at least one controller configured to control opening and/or closing of the at least one valve.

Lead extraction methods and apparatus

An implant () for repair of a spinal inter-vertebral disc, constituted of a first section and a second section, each having: a support member section (); a proximal support member secured to the proximal end of the support member section and arranged to extend proximally thereof, the proximal support member () arranged in a deployed configuration to distend in the direction of the first face () of the support member section (); and a pair of one inter-annulus support members (), each of the pair of inter-annulus support members optionally exhibiting a plurality of stacked layers, arranged so as to cooperating under ejection forces to act as a single layer, the support member section of the first section secured to the support member section of the second section such that the second face of the first section faces the second face of the second section.

Spinal disc annulus closure device

According to one aspect, a device for assisting in removing an implanted lead is provided. The device comprises a body portion having a center adapted to accommodate the lead, a cutting component coupled to the body portion to assist in separating tissue from the lead, and at least one anchoring component disposed at least partially within the body portion, the at least one anchoring component capable of providing pressure on the lead that resists movement of at least part of the body portion along the lead at least in part by applying fluid pressure.
