Zero-sequence blocking transformer

A proportional integrator for control of a motor drive arranged to be connected in parallel with one or more other motor drives to drive a common load. The proportional integrator includes means to receive an input command signal and to compare with a local measured signal from the motor drive and to output a local control signal for that motor drive, further comprising a global input signal indicative of the behaviour of the one or more other motor drives, the global input signal being incorporated into the proportional integral function with the input command signal and the local measured signal to provide the local control signal.

Control structures for parallel motor drive control architectures

A bootstrap gate driver charging circuit arranged to drive the gate of an upper switch (Q) and a lower switch (Q) connected in series to provide an AC output voltage () voltage by alternatively turning on and off according to a predetermined duty cycle of alternate upper switch turn-on and lower switch turn-on phases, the bootstrap gate driver charging circuit comprising: an input terminal; an output terminal; an H-bridge inverter with an inverter input and an inverter output; a charging path; and a bootstrap capacitor. Power converter power factor control

A proportional integrator for control of a motor drive arranged to be connected in parallel with one or more other motor drives to drive a common load. An auto-transformer rectifier system comprising an 18-pulse (or multiple of 18-pulse) autotransformer rectifier unit ATRU having three, or a multiple of three, diode bridge rectifiers and a balancing resistor to balance the power flow through the diode bridge rectifiers, wherein the balancing resistor has a variable resistance, and further comprising a controller configured to identify imbalances between power flows of the respective diode bridge rectifiers and to adjust the resistance of the balancing resistor in response to the detected imbalance.

Power converter

Aspects include a hold-up capacitor charging circuit for a power supply. The hold-up capacitor charging circuit includes a voltage boosting charge pump circuit with a hold-up capacitor electrically coupled to a voltage source. The hold-up capacitor charging circuit also includes a fly-back circuit. The fly-back circuit includes a transformer with a primary winding electrically coupled to the voltage source and a secondary winding electrically coupled to a load. A switch is electrically coupled to the primary winding and the voltage boosting charge pump circuit. A controller is operable to open and close the switch to control energy transfer from the primary winding to the secondary winding and charge the hold-up capacitor responsive to voltages of the voltage source, the voltage boosting charge pump circuit, and a reflected voltage of the secondary winding at the primary winding.
