A motor vehicle includes a crash detection device for detecting an imminent collision between the vehicle and an obstacle and a vehicle lifting device that cooperates with the crash detection device to suddenly compensate for a brake diving movement of the vehicle before the vehicle collides with the obstacle.

Motor vehicle and braking process

A method for a safety system in a vehicle continuously evaluates data relating to the surroundings from a surroundings sensor system in terms of an imminent collision with an obstacle, and autonomous emergency braking is initiated in the event of an unavoidable collision. The emergency braking is maintained until a predefined event occurs. The predefined event can be the expiration of a time calculated in advance up to the collision or the impact which is actually detected by a sensor.

Method for a safety system in a vehicle

A motor vehicle with an occupant restraint device, including a control device which produces a triggering signal when a predefined hazard signal is generated as a function of signals of a safety sensor system, and, accordingly, the occupant restraint vehicle acts on a vehicle occupant by at least one impact cushion. The control device generates the hazard signal at least as a function of vehicle acceleration signals and a belt state signal representing the activation or deactivation of a seat belt, deactivating the occupant restraint device at least for a certain period of time and/or activating the occupant restraint device at reduced power if the seat belt is identified as having been deactivated and vehicle acceleration signals are assigned to a critical forward displacement of the occupant if the seat belt is deactivated.

Motor vehicle comprising an occupant restraint device

A vehicle occupant protection system of a vehicle having a plurality of adaptive protection system components assigned to a seat in the vehicle, is preset using data relating to the individual occupant of the seat. The identity of the occupant is determined for at least one seat, and a stored safety profile which is assigned to the identified person is retrieved. The protection system components which are assigned to the seat are then set using the safety profile.

Method for pre-setting a passenger protection system for a vehicle

A seatbelt lock includes a preventive tensioning device which moves a seatbelt lock from an operating position into a lowered safety position with respect to the operating position, an energy accumulator, and a drive unit. The seatbelt lock is maintained preloaded in an operating position by means of the energy accumulator, and the drive unit transfers the seatbelt lock from the safety position back into the operating position.

Seatbelt lock

A front end of a motor vehicle, e.g., a passenger vehicle, having two longitudinal members, extending essentially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and an integral member on which a drive unit of the motor vehicle is mounted. The integral member has, on each side of the vehicle, a base member which extends essentially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and is fastened in each case by a front supporting pillar and by a rear supporting pillar to one of the longitudinal members. Each longitudinal member being of deformable configuration in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle at least between the supporting pillars. In order to improve the deformation behavior of the front end, each base member is fastened exclusively via its front supporting pillar and its rear supporting pillar at the bottom to associated longitudinal members. Each base member is configured such that it has greater stiffness in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle than the respectively associated longitudinal member. The supporting pillars are configured and connected to the associated longitudinal member and/or to the associated base member such that they pivot about pivot axes extending essentially transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, during a relative displacement between the base member and longitudinal member in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
