A charge port covering assembly includes, among other things, doors moveable between a covering position where the doors block access to a charge port, and an accessing position where the doors permit access to the charge port. A door release assembly includes a portion that tilts in response to movement of a charger toward an engaged position with the charge port to permit movement of the doors to the accessing position. A charge port covering method includes, among other things, blocking access to a charge port using a doors in a covering position, and tilting a portion of a door release assembly with a charger. The tilting permits a transitioning of the doors from the covering position to an accessing position where the charger can couple with the charge port.

Methods and systems are provided for nozzle guides for vehicle refueling adapters. In one example, a nozzle guide includes a plurality of protrusions adapted to center a fuel nozzle within the nozzle guide and to reduce a likelihood of over-insertion of the fuel nozzle into the nozzle guide. The nozzle guide may include features such as a rear guard and upper wall adapted to reduce ingression of liquid fuel with fuel vapor flowing from the fuel tank.

An exemplary charge port covering assembly includes a door assembly moveable between a covering position where the door assembly blocks access to a charge port, and an accessing position where the door assembly permits access to the charge port. A plurality of ring segments are configured to move to permit the door assembly to pivot from the covering position to the accessing position. Non-random windings are employed to reduce the proximity effect in electrical machines, including rotating machines such as various types of motors. A fuel pressure regulator is provided for producing more than one fuel pressure. The fuel pressure regulator includes a pressure plate that restricts fuel flow between an input line and an output line. A spring is provided for applying a force to the pressure plate. A rotational position sensor assembly (10) includes a wheel (20) having a ferromagnetic hub portion (22) and a resistor support member (24) on which an array of magneto resistor elements (28) are mounted. Surrounding the wheel (20) and rotatable relative to it is a magnetic return element (12) on which are mounted permanent magnets (18). The magnetic field created is tangential to the particular MR element(s) (28) aligned with this field, causing a change in resistance that indicates the relative rotational position of the magnetic return element (12) relative to the wheel (20).

An electromagnetically actuated valve for an automotive vehicle includes a pole assembly having a coil situated therein and a combination valve element and armature, including a tubular axially moveable valve spool for controlling the flow through at least one inlet port and at least one outlet port. A magnetic head having a first end attached to an end of the valve spool and a second end nested within a relieved area provided in the pole assembly functions to move the tubular valve spool in response to magnetic flux induced by the coil.
