A battery pack may include a battery cell, a cradle, a board and a housing. The cradle may be coupled with the battery cell and may include one or more guide members extending from and integrally formed with a surface of the cradle. The board may be mounted to the cradle and may include a plurality of terminal contacts electrically connected with the battery cell. The one or more guide members may be adapted to guide a device into engagement with the terminal contacts. The housing may at least partially enclose the cradle and the battery cell and may include one or more guide apertures and a plurality of terminal apertures. The one or more guide members may protrude through the one or more guide apertures. Each of the terminal apertures may be aligned with a corresponding one of the plurality of contacts.

A power tool that includes a housing, a motor, a trigger, a multi-speed transmission and a torque clutch. The housing define a handle. The motor is coupled to the housing. The trigger is coupled to the housing and configured to control operation of the motor. The multi-speed transmission is configured to transmit rotary power between the motor and the output spindle and includes a plurality of planetary stages with a first stage and a second stage that receives rotary power from the first stage. The first stage has a first internally toothed gear element and the second stage having a second internally toothed gear element. The torque clutch limits torque output from the multi-speed transmission to the output spindle. The torque clutch is configured to alternatively ground the second and third internally toothed gear elements to the housing based on a speed ratio setting of the multi-speed transmission.

A clutch arrangement that includes a clutch member and a follower member. The clutch member is coupled to a member of the transmission assembly that is proximate the torsional input of the transmission assembly and which must be in a non-rotating position to permit the transmission assembly to perform a torque multiplication operation. The follower member is biased into engagement with the clutch member to inhibit relative rotation therebetween. As the clutch member and the transmission member are coupled to one another, the transmission assembly is able to perform a torque multiplication operation. When, however, the torsion that is exerted onto the clutch member is sufficient to overcome the frictional engagement between the follower and clutch members, the clutch member, and the transmission member, rotate, thereby inhibiting the capability of the transmission to continue to perform the torque multiplication operation.

A clutch arrangement for use in a power tool having a multi-speed transmission assembly. The clutch arrangement includes a clutch member and a follower. An indicator can be disposed on the housing and include a light source. A semi-transparent lens can be disposed generally over the light source. The semi-transparent lens can have a plurality of prisms defined thereon and configured to disperse emitted light from the light source. The semi-transparent lens can include a chimney formed thereon. According to additional features, the indicator can include at least a first and a second light source. The chimney can be aligned with the first light source for directing emitted light from the first light source therethrough.

A sander can include housing, and a motor assembly in the housing. The motor assembly can include an output member. A platen can be driven by the output member. A user feedback assembly can be coupled to the housing and have a sensor assembly, a controller and an indicator. The sensor assembly can be configured to sense a parameter that is related to a magnitude of a force transmitted between the platen and a workpiece and generate a signal in response thereto. The controller can receive the sensor signal from the sensor assembly and control operation of the indicator in response thereto.

A power tool with a housing, a motor, an output spindle and a transmission assembly with a transmission and a speed selector. The transmission includes a plurality of planetary transmission stages that couple the motor to the output spindle.
