Transmission of one or more packets in a communication environment. Each packet includes one or more channel measurement fields, and the one or more packets together comprising at least first and second channel measurement fields. A first transmitter configuration for the first channel measurement field and a second transmitter configuration for the second channel measurement field are selected. The first and second transmitter configurations include pseudo-randomly different phase and/or amplitude shifts for the channel measurement fields. A method is also disclosed for a receiver configured to perform measurements on one or more packets in a communication environment. The first transmitter configuration for the first channel measurement field and the second transmitter configuration for the second channel measurement field are handshaked with a transmitter of the one or more packets, the one or more packets are received, and measurements performed on the received packets for wireless sensing and/or wireless positioning.

Security in relation to a maliciously controlled receiver

Methods are disclosed for communication devices capable of simultaneous transmission and reception, wherein a first method is for reception of a packet comprising a header and a payload and a second method is for transmission of a packet comprising a header and a payload. The second method comprises transmitting at least a part of the header. The first method comprises receiving at least a part of the header, attempting to decode the part of the header, and (when the part of the header is successfully decoded) transmitting a header acknowledgement signal. The second method comprises monitoring receipt of a header acknowledgement signal, and (when absence of the header acknowledgement signal is detected) interrupting the transmission of the packet and scheduling the packet for retransmission. Corresponding apparatuses, transceivers, communication devices and computer program products are also disclosed.

Acknowledgement for simultaneous transmission and reception

A technique for performing a multi-layer transmission from a transmitting station to a receiving station on a radio frequency is described. The multi-layer transmission comprises multiple layers having different robustnesses () on the radio frequency. As to a method aspect of the technique, first data of a first hybrid automatic repeat request, HARQ, process is transmitted on a first layer of the multi-layer transmission simultaneously with second data of a second HARQ process on a second layer of the multi-layer transmission.

Methods for facilitating positioning determination in a Wi-Fi communication network are disclosed. An example method comprises sending, to a responding communication node, a request to start a position-related determination procedure and information of a first plurality of frequency bands over which the initiating communication node is able to communicate. The method further comprises receiving, from the responding communication node, second information related to a second number of frequency bands over which the responding communication node is able to communicate, and triggering start of the position-related determination procedure based on the received second information so that the position-related determination procedure is performed over at least one of a third number of frequency bands that occurs in both the first plurality of frequency bands and the second number of frequency bands.

Distributed traffic control in flooding mesh networks

Embodiments include methods for an access point to schedule wireless communication devices. Such methods include performing link adaptation by assigning respective modulation and coding schemes (MCS) for the wireless communication devices. Each assigned MCS is associated with a corresponding power back-off. Such methods include scheduling the wireless communication devices on transmission resources based on assignment of the wireless communications devices into two or more groups. Each group is scheduled on different transmission resources than used to schedule other groups. First wireless communication devices assigned a first MCS and a first power back-off are assigned to a first group. Second wireless communications devices assigned a second MCS and a second power back-off, and that meet a grouping criterion associated with the first power back-off, are assigned to the first group until a maximum size for the first group is reached. Other embodiments include access points configured to perform such methods.

Scheduling of wireless communication devices

A technique for radio transmitting data is described. As to a method aspect of the technique data to be transmitted to a receiver is represented by at least two partial modulation symbols. Each of the at least two partial modulation symbols is associated to a different layer of the radio transmission to the receiver. A modulation symbol is generated by combining the at least two partial modulation symbols at different power levels according to the associated layer. The modulation symbol is transmitted to the receiver.

Technique for radio transmission under varying channel conditions

A method is disclosed performed by an initiating communication node (), for facilitating positioning determination in a Wi-Fi communication network (). The method comprises sending, to a responding communication node (), a request to start a position-related determination procedure and information of a first plurality of frequency bands over which the initiating communication node () is able to communicate. The method further comprises receiving, from the responding communication node (), second information related to a second number of frequency bands over which the responding communication node () is able to communicate, and triggering start of the position-related determination procedure based on the received second information so that the position-related determination procedure is performed over at least one of a third number of frequency bands that occurs in both the first plurality of frequency bands and the second number of frequency bands.

A first radio device receives a first radio transmission from a second radio device. In response to reception of the first radio transmission by the first radio device being unsuccessful, the first radio device sends a second radio transmission to the second radio device. The second radio transmission comprises an indication to the second radio device that reception of the first radio transmission by the first radio device was unsuccessful. The first radio device generates the second radio transmission to be decodable by one or more other radio devices than the second radio device as comprising a positive acknowledgement message, indicating to the second radio device that reception of the first radio transmission by the first radio device was successful, as comprising a clear-to-send message to the second radio device, or as some other legacy message supported by the other radio device(s).

Disclosed is a method for an access point of scheduling a plurality of wireless communication devices for transmission. The method comprises selecting () a respective modulation and coding scheme&#x2014;MCS&#x2014;for each of the plurality of wireless communication devices, wherein each of the respective MCS:s is associated with a respective power back-off, sorting () the plurality of wireless communication devices into two or more groups, wherein each group has a maximum size, and scheduling () each of the two or more groups of wireless communication devices on different respective transmission resources. The sorting comprises letting first wireless communication devices having the same first respective MCS and the same first respective power back-off belong to the same group. The sorting also comprises (if the maximum size is not reached for the group) letting a second wireless communication device having a second respective MCS and a second respective power back-off belong to the group if a grouping criterion is met. The grouping criterion is based on at least the first respective power back-off. Corresponding arrangement, access point and computer program product are also disclosed.

The present disclosure relates to methods, a device and a system for evaluation of channel estimate. One method is performed in a first access point arranged to communicate with one or more wireless devices through information streams that are created using multiple co-located antennas. The method comprises transmitting or receiving a packet A, to/from, the first wireless device, wherein the packet A is transmitted using a precoder determined using the channel estimate, retrieving information about possibly interfering transmissions C between further access points in the vicinity of the first access point, and respective second wireless devices; wherein the information comprises location information and timing information related to the possibly interfering transmissions, determining spatial separations between the transmissions A and C and evaluating the channel estimate, based on the determined spatial separations.

Channel estimation evaluation in MIMO systems

A relay node in a mesh network receives a plurality of broadcasted path request (PREQ) messages. The relay node updates cluster information in a cluster table of the relay node based on the received PREQ messages. This cluster information identifies a cluster transmitter node and a list of cluster receiver nodes that describes a path from the cluster transmitter node to the relay node via the cluster receiver nodes. The relay node receives a Path Reply (PREP) message, and in response, transmits a modified PREP message created based on the received PREP message.

This disclosure provides a method, performed in a modulation and coding scheme, MCS module of a network node, for modulation and coding scheme, MCS, selection for a link between the network node and a terminal device in an orthogonal frequency division multiple access, OFDMA, based system. The OFDMA-based system provides a plurality of sub-carriers. The method comprises obtaining channel quality indicators for the plurality of sub-carriers, and estimating a link quality over a bandwidth corresponding to a set of the plurality of sub-carriers corresponding to a sub-channel based on the obtained channel quality indicators. The method comprises selecting a sub-channel out of the plurality of sub-carriers as a new sub-channel to be used for a communication to/from the terminal device based on the determined link quality. Method for modulation and coding scheme selection and related network nodes and terminal devices

There is provided a method for resource allocation for downlink transmission to at least two wireless communication devices in a wireless communication network. Simultaneous transmission to the wireless communication devices is allowed on one or more channels with at least two supported modulation alphabets of different sizes, each channel being defined by a set, called resource unit, of one or more subcarriers. The method comprises obtaining (S), for each of the wireless communication devices, channel feedback information for each modulation alphabet the wireless communication device supports and for each resource unit on which the wireless communication device is allowed to receive a transmission. The method also comprises selecting (S), from a number of possible assignments of the wireless communication devices to different resource units and different modulation alphabets, a resource allocation based on the channel feedback information including an assignment of the wireless communication devices to at least one resource unit and at least one modulation alphabet among those assignments providing the highest total downlink throughput for the wireless communication devices.
