A patient interface may include a plenum chamber pressurisable to a therapeutic pressure; a seal-forming structure constructed and arranged to form a seal with a region of the patient's face; a positioning and stabilising structure to provide an elastic force to hold the seal-forming structure on the patient's head, the positioning and stabilising structure may include a tie; a vent structure; a decoupling structure configured to provide a fluid connection between the plenum chamber and an air circuit for the flow of air at the therapeutic pressure for breathing by the patient; and a frame having at least one tie attachment structure to receive the tie, wherein the frame is configured to be resiliently movable in any direction having at least one of a component parallel to the patient's sagittal plane, a component parallel to the patient's coronal plane, a component parallel to the patient's Frankfort horizontal plane.

A head-mounted display system includes a head mounted display unit with a display and a positioning and stabilising structure configured to hold the head-mounted display unit in an operable position on the user's head in use. The positioning and stabilizing structure includes headgear with at least one strap configured to contact the user's head, in use. The head mounted display unit and at least a portion of the positioning and stabilizing structure are formed from a one piece construction of textile material.

Positioning, stabilising, and interfacing structures and system incorporating same

The invention relates to a patient interface comprising a plenum chamber, a seal-forming structure, and a positioning and stabilizing structure, as well as the method of operating the patient interface. The patient's interface is configured to leave a patient's mouth uncovered or if the seal-forming structure is configured to seal around a patient's nose and mouth, the patient interface is configured to allow the patient to breath from the ambient in an absence of the flow of pressurized. The positioning and stabilizing structure includes headgear, and the seal-forming structure and at least a portion of the headgear is formed from a one piece construction of textile material. In another embodiment, the seal-forming structure and/or the positioning and stabilizing structure includes an adaptive portion that adjusts based on usage conditions. In another embodiment, the positioning and stabilizing structure, the seal-forming structure and/or the plenum chamber includes and/or is formed of a textile material, and the textile material includes at least one magnetic thread constructed of magnetic material to provide a magnetic interaction between a first part of the patient interface and a second part of the patient interface. In another embodiment, a stiffener is coupled to the plenum chamber, the seal-forming structure, and/or the positioning and stabilizing structure. In another embodiment, at least one of the plenum chamber and the seal-forming structure includes a textile material; and wherein the textile material includes a surface structure that limits adhesion of debris. A manufactured component, such as headgear or a headgear strap, for a patient interface for delivery of pressurised air or breathable gas to an entrance of a patient's airways may include a textile portion having a first material with a first melting point. It may also include a plastic portion over-moulded to the textile portion. The plastic portion may be formed of a second material having a second melting point. The melting points may be different such that the second melting point is chosen to be less than the first melting point of the first material. The component may be moulded in a multi-step process that moulds separate portions of the plastic portion and the textile portion at different times. The resulting plastic portion may then have a mechanical bond with the textile and may do so without significant chemical bonding between the plastic portion and the textile.

A gas washout vent for a patient interface may be configured to allow a flow of patient exhaled gas to an exterior of the patient interface to minimise rebreathing of exhaled gas by the patient and the vent may include: a plurality of vent passages extending between a first and a second side of the vent, each vent passage may include: a plurality of first openings extending from the first side towards the second side, said first openings being uniform in size and shape; a plurality of second openings extending from the second side towards the first side, said second openings being uniform in size and shape; and wherein the first openings and the second openings partially overlap each other at an interface to form constricted passages therebetween.

A patient interface including a seal-forming structure having a mouth portion that forms at least part of the mouth plenum and is configured to seal around the patient's mouth and a nasal portion that is configured to seal with the patient's nares. The nasal portion includes a nasal plenum positioned to receive pressurized gas from the mouth plenum. The seal-forming structure also includes a clip configured to connect the mouth plenum to the nasal plenum and act as a conduit for the flow of the pressurized gas from the mouth plenum to the nasal plenum. The clip includes a mouth portion end configured to engage the mouth portion, a nasal portion end configured to engage the nasal portion, and a pair of wings protruding from the nasal portion end into an interior of the nasal plenum so that the wings engage an interior surface of the nasal plenum.
