An environmentally sealed system for fracturing subterranean systems including a fracturing fluid source, a proppant source, a proppant hopper comprising a variable proppant regulator, a blender comprising a blender inlet and a blender outlet, a high pressure pump comprising a high pressure pump inlet and a high pressure pump outlet, and a well head; wherein the fracturing fluid source is connected to the blender inlet through a fracturing fluid supply connection and a fracturing vapor recovery connection, the proppant source is connected with the proppant hopper through a proppant supply connection and a proppant vapor recovery connection, the proppant hopper is connected to the blender inlet through a proppant transfer connection, the blender outlet is connected to the high pressure pump inlet, and the high pressure pump is outlet connected to the well head.

Environmentally sealed system for fracturing subterranean formations

An apparatus and method for the treatment of stimulation fluid that involves passing a mixture of the stimulation fluid and reagents through a sectioned tank, each section having the means to agitate the mixture contained therein. Treated fluid is removed from a final settling section for reuse in oil and gas production operations.

Treatment of stimulating fluid

Hydrocarbon stimulation fluids are often used to increase the permeability and productivity of oil and gas reservoirs. The fluid itself is made up of a mixture of hydrocarbons and various chemicals designed to induce gel formation and gel breaking. The successful removal of these chemicals from the fluid has been achieved, through a process of acid-washing, mixing with a settling agent, centrifugation and filtration. This will allow the fluid to be re-used many times for further fracturing processes.

Recycling hydrocarbon hydraulic stimulation fluid

In a well bore operation in which a particulate is added to a fluid stream, a method of determining the concentration of said particulate in said fluid stream comprising the steps of measuring the rate of flow of the fluid stream, determining the rate of particulate flow in the fluid stream using an acoustic sensor and calculating the concentration of particulate in the fluid stream using results from the measuring and determining steps.
