An image processing system comprises one or more image sensors configured to take images, one or more image processors configured to process images taken by the one or more image sensors to produce output images, and one or more circuits configured to use output images. The one or more image processors comprise a set of one or more image processing stages, and each stage is configured to process images using a respective image processing operation. Processing circuitry is configured to verify image processing performed by one or more image processing stages, by inserting one or more probes into one or more images prior to the one or more images being processed by the one or more image processing stages, and attempting to identify the one or more probes in an output of the one or more processing stages.

Image processing system

A graphics processing system includes a graphics processing pipeline, which includes a primitive generation stage and a pixel processing stage. The graphics processing system is arranged to process input data in the primitive generation stage to produce first primitive data associated with a first view of a scene and second primitive data associated with a second view of the scene. The graphics processing system is arranged to process the first primitive data in the pixel processing stage to produce first pixel-processed data associated with the first view. The graphics processing system is arranged to determine, for second pixel-processed data associated with the second view, whether to use the first pixel-processed data as the second pixel-processed data or whether to process the second primitive data in the pixel processing stage to produce the second pixel-processed data, and perform additional processing in the graphics processing pipeline based on the determining.

Graphics processing systems and graphics processors

A method of allocating regions of memory including the steps of allocating a corresponding plurality of portions of memory for use by the process and marking regions of memory that are allocated with markers. A start of a region is marked with one of the markers and an end of a region is marked with a further one of the markers, the further one of the markers having a later relative time indication and marking a next allocated region. In response to determining that a region of allocated memory bounded by two of the markers is no longer required by the process, deleting an older of the two markers; and in response to detecting deletion of an oldest one of the markers, deallocating the region of memory up to a new oldest pending marker.

Allocation and deallocation of bounded time relative portions of a graphics memory

In a graphics processing system, a command list reader first reads-in and identifies a portion of a command list. The primitives corresponding to the commands in the portion of the command list are then subjected to a Z-only processing pass. This allows a Z-bufferand a hierarchical Z-pyramidto be filled with the appropriate Z-values for the primitives in the portion of the primitive list. The primitives are then subjected to a second, normal rendering, processing pass, but the filled Z-bufferand Z-pyramid from the first processing pass are used together with the Z-testsperformed in the second processing pass to determine which primitive should be processed for each sampling point in the second processing pass.
