An endoscopic instrument is disclosed that includes an elongate shaft and an instrument insert releasably connected to a distal end portion of the shaft, the distal end portion of the shaft being in the form of a sleeve and a proximal end region of a base of the instrument insert being in the form of a coupling shaft, or the distal end portion of the shaft being in the form of a coupling shaft and a proximal end region of a base of the instrument insert being in the form of a sleeve, with the coupling shaft being releasably held in the sleeve and the sleeve and/or the coupling shaft at least in portions having a cross-sectional profile which is reversibly changeable for detaching the coupling shaft from the sleeve. The invention also relates to a shaft for an endoscopic instrument, and to an instrument insert for an endoscopic instrument.

Handling device for the formation of a disassemblable medical instrument comprises a first component, a second component, which can be moved relative to the first component, a coupling device on the second component, wherein the coupling device is designed and arranged in order to be coupled to a corresponding coupling device at the proximal end of a force transmission device within a working range of positions of the second component and in order not to be coupled to a corresponding coupling device at the proximal end of a force transmission device in a release position of the second component, and a guiding device on the first component for guiding a corresponding coupling device at the proximal end of a force transmission device within a transitional range between one end of the working range and the release position.

This application is directed to a medical instrument with a hollow shaft, an actuating unit at the proximal end and an instrument tip with an instrument at the distal end, the instrument actuated via an actuating element, the element being in connection with the actuating unit and the instrument tip being pivotable relative to the shaft via a joint mechanism; the joint mechanism having pivoting members with proximal-side drive via steering wires such that movement of the proximal-side drive causes movement of the distal-side pivoting members and pivoting of the instrument tip; and a trigger mechanism with which the steering wires can be brought into a relaxed state that releases the articulation of the instrument tip. In order for the medical instrument to be cleaned and ensure that the medical instrument is safely removed even if the proximal-side drive fails, the trigger mechanism is a purely mechanical trigger mechanism.

Medical instrument

The invention relates to a medical instrument having an elongated shaft, a movable tool at a distal end of the shaft, a handle with a movable grip part at a proximal end of the shaft, and a force transmission element which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the instrument and is operatively connected to the movable grip part and to the tool such that an actuation of the movable grip part is converted into a movement of the tool. The instrument has a spring assembly that is arranged on the handle and has at least one leg spring, which has at least one winding and two legs, and a pin, wherein the at least one winding extends about the pin. When the movable grip part is actuated, a force is applied to at least one of the legs of the leg spring, said force reducing the friction between the winding and the pin such that the leg spring can be rotated about the pin and the force transmission element and the tool can be moved. When a force is transmitted from the tool to the force transmission element in the longitudinal direction thereof, the leg spring cannot be rotated about the pin such that the force transmission element and the tool cannot be moved.

A coupling device and coupling method for the self-securing mechanical connection of two parts of a holding system for medical instruments, including a bolt element insertable into a bushing; wherein the bushing has a main body and, connected fixedly to the latter, a cone sleeve which tapers conically at its free end, wherein a cage sleeve acted upon by a spring and guiding clamping bodies is inserted axially movably into the cone sleeve and can be moved between an uncoupled position, a release position and a locking position. The clamping bodies in the locking position can be latched into a coupling groove of the bolt element by means of the spring force. The inclined coupling groove flank, at the front in the insertion direction, of the bolt element encloses an angle &#x3b1; with the longitudinal axis of the bolt element, and the cone inner face of the cone sleeve encloses an angle &#x3b2; with the central sleeve axis. The coupling device is characterized in that, for self-securing connection, the angle &#x3b1; is greater than the angle &#x3b2; such that clamping bodies partially or completely latched into the coupling groove can be pressed into the locking position counter to the insertion direction by application of a tensile force to the bolt element.

Self-securing coupling device and method

A handling device for a medical instrument includes a main body with a coupling for releasable mechanical connection to a proximal end of an outer shaft, a first actuation device movable relative to the main body, a second actuation device movable relative to the main body, a first coupling device coupling the first actuation device to a first transfer device for transferring at least a force or a torque, and a second coupling device coupling the second actuation device to a second transfer device for transferring at least a force or a torque. The coupling devices each have a decoupling position, in which the associated actuation device is decoupled from the associated transfer device. The decoupling positions of both coupling devices can only be reached when the outer shaft is not connected to the coupling on the main body in the manner provided for use of the medical instrument.

Handling device for a medical instrument

A handle for a surgical instrument, which handle has a carriage designed to move an actuation rod. A second actuation element is arranged adjacent to the first actuation element and is rotatable over the longitudinal axis of the main body. The second actuation element is annular, toward the first actuation element, and carries on its inner circumference a rotationally fixed locking ring. The carriage has a finger which extends, eccentrically with respect to the longitudinal axis of the main body, from a front face of the carriage facing the locking ring. In a locked state, a protuberance on the ring provides an abutment for the carriage. In the release state, the finger is offset with respect to the protuberance, and a range of travel of the carriage is freed.

Surgical instrument, handle, operating method, and method for dismantling same

A method for mounting a sheath onto the distal end of a surgical shaft instrument, in particular the tool tip of a dilation instrument. The method makes handling easy and allows the sheath to be fastened on the instrument in a rapid manner sparing of material, characterized by these steps: a) fastening the sheath on an apparatus for mounting a sheath onto the distal end of a surgical shaft instrument; b) radially widening at least the proximal end of the sheath and inserting the distal end of the surgical shaft instrument into the widened sheath c) transferring the sheath from the apparatus to the distal end of the surgical shaft instrument; and d) removing the distal end of the surgical shaft instrument from the apparatus. The invention also relates to an apparatus to perform this method.
