Disclosed is an electroluminescent display device () comprising a plurality of pixels () disposed on a substrate (), each pixel being formed by one or more basic emitting zones (), every basic emitting zone having a base electrode () disposed on said substrate () and an OLED stack () comprising an electroluminescent layer disposed on said base electrode (), the device () further comprising a common electrode () disposed on top of the OLED stack, said device being characterized in that: &#x2014;two adjacent base electrodes () belonging to two adjacent basic emitting zones () are separated by a filler element having an insulating surface () which fills the zone () between said adjacent base electrodes () and electrically insulates them from each other; at least the surface of said filler element having an insulating surface () in contact with the base electrodes () is made of an insulating material; a separator () is situated above the filler element () and separates the electroluminescent layers of the OLED stack () from two adjacent basic emitting zones ().

Electroluminescent device with improved resolution and reliability

An encapsulated device comprises: an organic optoelectronic component exhibiting at least one sensitive surface protected from oxygen and/or water vapor; and a multilayer encapsulation structure covering the sensitive surface, comprising at least one layer made of organic material interposed between first and second barrier layers made of nonmetallic inorganic material impermeable to oxygen and water vapor; wherein the barrier layers are made of a material chosen from a stoichiometric metal oxide, stoichiometric silicon oxide and a silicon oxynitride and produced by atomic layer deposition, and wherein the multilayer encapsulation structure also comprises at least one active layer containing a nonstoichiometric oxide exhibiting an oxygen deficiency, also interposed between the first and said second barrier layers. A process for encapsulating a component exhibiting a 'sensitive' surface protected from oxygen and/or water vapor by producing a multilayer encapsulation structure is provided.
