Sensing devices including flexible and stretchable pressure sensors may be associated with or incorporated in garments intended to be worn against a body surface (directly or indirectly), or may be associated with other types of flexible substrates. Systems and methods for storing, communicating, processing, analyzing and displaying data collected by sensor components for remote monitoring of conditions at or near body surfaces are also disclosed. Sensors and sensor systems provide substantially real-time feedback relating to current body conditions and may provide user-specific feedback relating to gait and footwear fit and performance, facilitating improved footwear matching to individual users and improved footwear design and manufacturing, and enabling early intervention when conditions indicate intervention is appropriate.

Sensor systems for user-specific evaluation of gait, footwear and garment fitting; monitoring of contact, force, pressure and/or shear at or near body surfaces

Components and assemblies for acquisition and analysis of data collected from sites such body surfaces, footwear and apparel, objects, accessories, and the like are directed to providing intermittent and/or continuous monitoring and reporting of conditions such as force, pressure, shear and other conditions, activity and/or environmental parameters at body locations and/or at an interface of a body location and an object. In one aspect, sensor assemblies comprise one or more sensor(s) and/or associated electronics associated with at least one non-conductive carrier layer. Electronic components including sensor acquisition systems (SAS) and dedicated electronics devices (DED) providing electronics components for signal conditioning, data collection, storage, analysis, feedback, communications and optional sensing capabilities are also described.

A device for measuring light scattering and absorption properties of a tissue, the device comprising: a probe comprising first and second optical fibers for irradiation and detection. The optical fibers are substantially parallel to each other at the distal end, and are separated by a distance of less than 2 mm, wherein said first and second optical fibers are arranged in said probe at an angle, 6=10 deg. to 45 deg., to the plane perpendicular to the distal end of said probe and wherein the tips of the optical fibers at the distal end are polished parallel to the plane perpendicular to the distal end of said probe.

Detecting optical properties of a turbid medium

Self-referencing fields are synchronized during a synchronization pass of a two-way synchronization between a client computer and a server computer. When a synchronization operation is performed, a list of server tasks associated with the server and a list of project tasks associated with the client are loaded. For each task being synchronized two predecessor lists are maintained. During the synchronization, a comparison is conducted to determine whether to use the project task data or the server task data. When the project task data is used, then the predecessor IDs stored in the project predecessor list are used. When the server task data is used, then the predecessor IDs stored in the server predecessor list are used.
