A method and system to provide portable database functionality in an electronic form is described. The system may include a communications module and a portability module. The communications module may be configured to receive a request to generate an electronic form, the electronic form to include preloaded database information. The portability module may be configured to respond to the request by configuring the electronic form to include the preloaded database information obtained from a source database. The preloaded database information may be used for a variety of purposes at fill time, when one or more electronic form field values are being filled in by a user.

Method and system to provide portable database functionality in an electronic form

Client-side modification of electronic documents by server-generated instructions in a client-server environment enables dynamic modification of formatting information in an electronic document to accommodate new data received from the server. A server generates machine instructions to send to a client along with new data for an electronic document. The generated instructions may include at least one tag indicating a relative order in which the new data is to be imported into the electronic document and the instructions are to be performed.

A system that aggregates and submits data from a customized packet of forms. The system first creates a single data unit for storing form data which is initially empty. It then opens a main document, which has associated forms. For each associated form in the main document, the system extracts data from client-populated fields in the associated form and concatenates data from the associated form to the single data unit. In this way, data from every associated form in the customized packet of forms is aggregated into the single data unit. The system then submits the single data unit.

A system, to persist state in a dynamic electronic form, may include a communications module to receive a request to load an electronic form, a merge module to merge a template associated with the electronic form and data values associated with the electronic form, a delta extractor to access delta data associated with the electronic form, and an overlay module to overlay the delta data onto the electronic form. The delta data, in an example embodiment, includes attributes and properties associated with the electronic form that are being designated to persist between editing sessions of the electronic form.

In a queue management system for servicing of a number of clients representing different client types, a controlling queue queues clients in a predetermined order. A queue manager allocates and reallocates a number of processing queues, less than the number of client types, to match different ones of said client types. The queue manager then places successive ones of the clients in the controlling queue into a processing queue matching the client type if there is a matching processing queue and allocates or reallocates an empty or emptied processing queue to the client type if there is no matching processing queue but there is an empty processing queue. A server empties the processing queues in batches. In the environment of a telephone system the clients are messages and the client types are codings in the messages for various destinations. The queue manager dedicates each of a number of processing queues to one of the destinations in the controlling queue, accesses the top message in the controlling queue, places the messages in a processing queue matching the destination code of the message if there is a match, and dedicates an empty processing queue to the target destination if there is no matching processing queue but there is an empty processing queue.

Methods and apparatus are set forth which enable users of a network which supports the AMIS Analog Protocol to define numbering plans which shorten and simplify addressing an AMIS message to specific AMIS Sites.
