Pitfall traps, coasters, devices, apparatus, systems and methods for capturing crawling insects, such as bed bugs, and/or for preventing the insects from climbing up furniture legs to furniture such as beds, cots, chairs and any type of furniture where a person would rest or sleep. Smooth slick surfaces and/or pesticide treated surfaces can be located on underside facing horizontal or angled surfaces used with or without sticky surfaces which all can be used to prevent insect and bed bug travel and assist in helping trap the insects and bed bugs.

Furniture protector against bed bugs and other crawling insects

Compositions, formulas, methods of making, mixing and applying insecticide formulations to different surfaces such as but not limited to interior surfaces of ovitraps, on walls and on chips and tiles to produce a texturized surface to allow for better transfer of the insecticidal active ingredients to insects, such as mosquitoes and the like, which land on or crawl on the surfaces, resulting in faster insect mortality rates. The texture of the insecticidal residue provides better transfer of the insecticidal active ingredients to insects that land on or crawl on the surface, resulting in faster insect mortality. The textured residue also enhances desirable surface characteristics for landing of mosquitoes and potentially other insects.

Texturized insecticidal formulation

Dual action lethal containers, systems, methods, compositions and formulas used to kill mosquitoes and their larvae. The containers can have separate interior larvicidal and adulticidal coatings separated from each other by horizontal water line holes in the container. Another container can use a novel combined coating of a larvicidal and adulticidal coating. Unique compositions of adulticidal coatings, larvicidal coatings and combined adulticidal and larvicidal coatings can be used as liners.

Dual action lethal containers, systems, methods and compositions for killing adult mosquitos and larvae

Water-holding vessels and containers, such as flower pots, water holding dishes used under plant pots, vases, bird baths, and fountains and storm water inlets, can be coated with novel larvicide and/or adulticide coatings. Small objects can be coated with imbedded larvicide or larvicide and adulticide combination, which can be dropped in water-holding containers which can leach out pesticide over time which prevents mosquitoes from breeding in the water-holding containers. The small objects can be on the adhesive side of peel and stick type tape to form a peel and stick mosquitocidal chip (PSMC), which can be applied to the inner sides and/or bottoms of vessels/containers that can be exposed to water. A tape type roll can include an upper protective layer that protects a coating on a strip, the coating being a polymer coating having imbedded pesticide with or without silica. Under the strip can be an adhesive surface that is protected by a removable lower protective layer. Removing the lower protective layer can allow for the strip to be applied to water exposed surfaces for the treatment of mosquitoes.

Durable coating-embedded pesticides with peel and stick mosquito treatment of containers

Traps, devices, systems, compositions, and methods for trapping bed bugs, and similar insects with sticky traps having a smooth perimeter surface around the sticky surface, where the smooth perimeter surface can be abraded to a selected texture having both smoothness and roughness qualities. The surfaces are textured so that bed bugs are not able to use the surfaces to pull themselves from the sticky surface, and the textured surface is not so smooth as to cause the bed bugs to avoid the textured surface.

Generally pyramid shaped containers can have combined interior larvacidal and adultacidal coatings above and below a side opening in the container. A removable inclined grate cap can also allow for mosquitoes to enter into the container. Inclined stacked walls inside the container form attractive surfaces for mosquitoes to breed. A system to heat objects which are infested with arthropods is disclosed having a structured shelter, composed of two double reflective canopies and a double reflective floor cover. Heaters are placed within the shelter, and a fan is located behind the heater to furnish hot air circulation. Thermocouples are provided to determine the heating end point. The non metallic support structure is installed around the objects to be heated, and the various reflective covers and canopies are installed upon the support structure.

Heat chamber for termination of bed bugs and other arthropods

Systems, devices, apparatus and methods of attracting and capturing flies with toxicant treated darkened cords and printed or painted strips on sidewalls of housings. The darkened cords and strips black to confuse flies into believing they are cracks and crevices. Flies feed off the insecticide treated strips and are killed over time. At least one black line over a blue background can simulate a harborage to attract flying insects. At least one black line over a sticky surface card can be used. Geometrical housing shapes can include triangular, pentagon, cylindrical, rectangular, square, cube and/or other geometrical shapes. Housings can be tied off to be suspended. Second housings can be suspended beneath a main housing by attaching strips to the lower suspended housing. The housings can also work in an unassembled state where planar type sheets can be mounted on a wall.

Fly attractant system with toxicant-treated cords

Uniqueviruses (SINV) have been identified and their genome sequenced. Oligonucleotide primers have been developed using the isolated nucleic acid sequences of the SINV. The viruses are used as a biocontrol agent for control of fire ants.

The subject invention concerns novel biopesticides and their use to control cockroaches, carpenter ants, and pharaoh ants. Specifically, highly virulent isolates of Beauveria bassiana in an agricultural composition, can be used to effectively control these pests. Exemplified are Beauveria bassiana No. 447, ATCC 20872, and Beauveria bassiana Sp111, ATCC 74038. Also described are unique formulations which are highly effective for delivering biocontrol agents to target pests. By using these novel compositions, target pests can be controlled without the environmental and public safety hazards presented by chemical control agents.
