Compositions obtained from recycled polyolefins

The present disclosure provides a filament for use in an extrusion-based additive manufacturing system made from or containing a propylene ethylene copolymer having: ethylene derived units content ranging from about 3.0 wt % to about 12.0 wt %, based upon the weight of the propylene ethylene copolymer; MFR L (Melt Flow Rate according to ISO 1133, condition L, at 230&#xb0; C. and 2.16 kg load) from about 4 to about 20 g/10 min; and xylene solubles measured at 25&#xb0; C. from about 3 wt % to about 30 wt %, based upon the weight of the propylene ethylene copolymer. The disclosure further provides an extrusion-based additive manufacturing system made from or containing the filament as well as 3D printed articles prepared from the system.

Process for forming a consumable filament

A polymer filament comprising a polyolefin composition which comprises at least 10% by weight of one or more copolymer(s) (I) of propylene with one or more comonomers selected from ethylene, C-C&#x3b1;-olefins and their combinations, said copolymer or copolymers (I) having MFR from 0.5 to 10 g/10 min. and containing units deriving from the said comonomers in a total amount of from 0.5 to 25% by weight with respect to the total amount of all momoner units in the copolymer, provided that, in the absence of comonomer units deriving from C-C&#x3b1;-olefins, the amount of comonomer units deriving from ethylene or C-C&#x3b1;-olefins or their combinations is at least 2.5% by weight.

A polymer filament comprising a polyolefin composition which comprises (percentages by weight): A) 5%-95% of a propylene homopolymer; and B) 5-95% of a butene-1 homopolymer or copolymer having a flexural modulus of 80 MPa or higher.

A polyolefin composition, and pipe systems and sheets made therefrom, the composition comprising (percent by weight), 1) 10-60% of a copolymer of propylene and hexene-1 comprising from 0.2 to 10% of recurring units derived from hexene-1; 2) 10-85% of a propylene polymer selected from propylene homopolymer and a polymer of propylene with 0.1-10% of an &#x3b1;-olefin selected from ethylene, a C-Ca-olefin, hexene-1 excluded, and a mixture thereof, the propylene polymer being insoluble in xylene at ambient temperature in an amount over 85% and having a Polydispersity Index ranging from 4.5 to 12; and 3) 5-30% of a copolymer of ethylene with a C-C&#x3b1;-olefin and optionally a diene, having an ethylene content ranging from 15 to 60% and an intrinsic viscosity value of at least 1 dl/g.

Polyolefin composition for pipe system and sheets

A single- or multilayer threaded pipe, wherein at least one layer is produced from a polyolefin composition comprising (percentages express on the basis of the sum of components (A) and (B)): (A) 65-90 wt % of a heterophasic polypropylene composition comprising (percentages expressed on the basis of the polypropylene composition): (1) 65-95 wt % of a propylene polymer selected from propylene homopolymer and co- and terpolymers of propylene with a comonomer selected from ethylene, a C4-C10 alpha-olefin and a mixture thereof, said polymer containing 0.1-10 wt % of comonomer units, being insoluble in xylene at 25&#xb0; C. in an amount over 85 wt %, having a polydispersity index ranging from 4 to 13 and an intrinsic viscosity ([&#x3b7;]1) value of over 2.2 dl/g; and (2) 5-35 wt % of an olefin polymer of ethylene with propylene or a C4-C10 alpha-olefin having an ethylene content ranging from 15 to 85 wt % and an intrinsic viscosity of the fraction soluble in xylene ([&#x3b7;]2) of at least 1.4 dl/g; wherein the ratio of the intrinsic viscosity value of propylene polymer (1) to that of olefin polymer (2) ([&#x3b7;]/[&#x3b7;]2) ranges from 0.45 to 1.6; and (B) 10-35 wt % of a at least one filler selected among calcium carbonate, talc, wollastonite or mixtures thereof.
