The present invention relates to a connection assembly for attaching a dental component to a dental implant, a dental component for the connection assembly and a method to use the connection assembly. The connection assembly () is removably attachable to the dental implant (), preferably with the dental component () attached to the connection assembly, and a dental component is attachable to the connection assembly in a pre-fastened state or a fastened state. The pre-fastened state, when the connection assembly is attached to the dental implant, the connection assembly allows for adjustment of a relative position and/or orientation between the dental component and the dental implant. In the fastened state, the relative position and/or orientation between the dental component and the connection assembly is fixed, while the connection assembly is in particular detachable from the dental implant with the dental component attached to the connection assembly in the fastened state.

The present invention relates to a placement device for a dental component, a method for handling a dental component with a placement device, a dental component for placement with a placement device and a set comprising a placement device and a dental component. The placement device () for a dental component () is preferably an implant and comprises a proximal end (), a distal end () and a coupling mechanism () for coupling the distal end () to the dental component. The coupling mechanism includes at least one movable pin () having a longitudinal axis (A) and being movable along its longitudinal axis (A) relative to the placement device () for engaging the dental component. It also includes at least one engagement part () at the distal end of the placement device () for engaging the dental component, the engagement part having a longitudinal axis (A). A secure interlock between the dental component and the placement device is achieved by arranging the longitudinal axis (A) of the engagement part () at an angle (&#x3b1;) relative to the longitudinal axis (A) of the movable pin ().
