Methods, systems, and storage media are described for the utilization of user equipment (UE) identifiers for registration in fifth generation (5G) systems. An apparatus of a user equipment includes processing circuitry to: retrieve a first 5G-GUTI from a memory; generate a registration request message that includes the first 5G-GUTI; encode the registration request message for transmission to a fifth-generation core (5GC) network of a second PLMN; receive a registration accept message that includes a second 5G-GUTI; and access the second PLMN using the second 5G-GUTI.

A user equipment (UE) or other device performs service discovery of edge computing resources in a cellular network system and dynamic offloading of UE application tasks to discovered edge computing resources. As part of the discovery process, the device (e.g., the UE) may request edge server site capability information. When performing dynamic offloading, the UE may obtain (collect and/or receive) information regarding channel conditions, cellular network parameters or application requirements and dynamically determine whether a task of the application executing on the UE should be offloaded to an edge server or executed locally on the UE. In making decisions between offloaded or local execution, the UE may use a utility function that takes into account factors such as relative differences in application latency, energy consumption and offloading cost.

Dynamic service discovery and offloading framework for edge computing based cellular network systems

Techniques are provided for managing the provisioning of voice services to a user equipment (UE) in a fifth generation (5G) network. For example, the UE generates a registration request message that includes 5G mobility management (5GMM) capabilities of the UE that are indicative of whether the UE supports voice over internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS), and transmits the registration request message to a next generation radio access network (NGRAN) node in the 5G wireless network. Based on the 5GMM capabilities, the NG-RAN node can determine whether voice over IMS can be provided to UE by comparing the 5GMM capabilities to capabilities of the NG-RAN node.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for Reflective Quality of Service (RQoS) enhancements. Methods may include enhancements for both UE behavior and network function behavior. Network function behaviors may include enhancements to UPF behavior and SPF behavior. Reflective QoS enhancements

Systems, devices and methods for a user equipment (UE) to perform public land mobile network (PLMN) selection with a non-terrestrial network (NTN). A UE performs a non-access stratum (NAS) procedure with a public land mobile network (PLMN) of an NTN. The UE receives a NAS message from the PLMN, and the NAS message indicates that the UE is not allowed to access a core network of the NTN. The NAS message may indicate that the UE is not allowed to access the core network of the NTN because a location of the UE is unknown to the NTN, that access to the NTN is not allowed in a country in which the UE is located, or that a location of the UE is not within a country associated with the NTN. The UE modifies its PLMN search procedure responsive to receiving the NAS message.

Public land mobile network selection for non-terrestrial networks

A circuit arrangement includes a preprocessing circuit configured to obtain context information related to a user location, a learning circuit configured to determine a predicted user movement based on context information related to a user location to obtain a predicted route and to determine predicted radio conditions along the predicted route, and a decision circuit configured to, based on the predicted radio conditions, identify one or more first areas expected to have a first type of radio conditions and one or more second areas expected to have a second type of radio conditions different from the first type of radio conditions and to control radio activity while traveling on the predicted route according to the one or more first areas and the one or more second areas.

Methods and devices for radio communications

A network device (e.g., a user equipment (UE), a new radio NB (gNB), or other network component) can process or generate a one-step paging reception or a two-step paging reception based on being in a sub-state of an idle mode. A UE can enter into an idle state to enable a decreased power consumption of battery, and further reduce power consumption by only monitoring a PDCCH in response to operating in a camped on any cell state, and eliminate processing a paging message when in the camped on any cell state.

For PDU Session of Ethernet type, the network indicates to the UE whether the scope of RQoS includes both the Source/Destination MAC address pair and the IEEE 802.1Q tag, or only the former. The UE may indicate to the network whether it supports the flexible scope of packet filters for RQoS for a PDU session.

Flexible scope of packet filters for reflective quality of service

A user equipment (UE) is configured to receive broadcast information from a public land mobile network (PLMN) including at least a PLMN identifier (ID), attempt a registration with the PLMN by sending a registration request to the PLMN, wherein the UE attempts the registration via a base station operated by the PLMN deployed in a non-terrestrial network (NTN) arrangement including a non-terrestrial component configured to provide services to the UE via a service link, receive a message including a cause code indicating the PLMN is not allowed to operate at a current UE location and further including a set of attributes indicating further conditions wherein the registration with the PLMN is not allowed and avoid further registration attempts with the PLMN when the further conditions are met.

Network selection in a non-terrestrial network

Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for public land mobile network (PLMN) selection for disaster roaming in a 5G wireless communications system. A user equipment (UE) can receive two or more messages that disaster roaming service is offered by two or more forbidden public land mobile networks (PLMNs) of a forbidden PLMN list of the UE. The UE can select a first forbidden PLMN of the two or more forbidden PLMNs, where the first forbidden PLMN corresponds to a highest priority PLMN of a preferred PLMN list of the UE, and establish communications, via the transceiver, with the first forbidden PLMN. Some embodiments include designating a forbidden PLMN as offering a disaster roaming PLMN for manual selection. Some embodiments include enabling a Closed Access Group (CAG)-capable UE to access disaster roaming services from a forbidden PLMN of a CAG-only cell or a 5G cell.

Public land mobile network selection for disaster roaming

An apparatus of user equipment (UE) comprises one or more baseband processors to process at least one non-public network (NPN) identifier (NPN-ID) broadcast by an NPN and zero or more Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identifier (PLMN-ID) broadcast by a PLMN, to compare the NPN-ID against a logical list of NPN-IDs and PLMN-IDs ranked in decreasing order of priority, and to connect with the highest ranked processed NPN or PLMN based on a rank of the NPN-ID in the list.
