A goggle has a replaceable plastic lens mounted in a flexible frame containing several air vents for passing external air through the goggle interior. The lens is formed of thermoplastic materials to provide spherical and cylindrical versions of the lens. The thermoplastic resins incorporate dyes which tint the lens to create a transmission curve with a broad flattened peak above a 50% transmission level and steep slopes to couple with the response characteristics of the rods of the human eye retina so as to improve contrast in very low light conditions such as night skiing under artificial light. Inlet and outlet air vents are covered by porous foam to reduce fogging in an outdoor environment.

Tinted plastic lens for eye protecting devices

A cam buckle system has a lever arm which is pivotally connected to a base plate. The lever arm rotates a lock arm with cam teeth into abutment with a strap to lock the strap against movement. The strap also extends through a capture slot on the lever arm so that manual movement of the strap will open or lock the cam buckle as well as tension the strap. The cam buckle can be used for any tension member, but has particular utility to interconnect a pair of wrist straps of a ski pole grip. The straps and cam buckle form an adjustable length loop which can be tightened to form a heel support for the ski grip. A single point attachment at a top of the handle includes a vertical slot and spreader plate to vertically orient and open the pair of straps. This creates a wrist strap adjustment system that can be quickly manipulated using a single gloved hand.

Ski pole grip and strap system

A goggle has a replaceable lens mounted in a flexible frame containing several large air vents facing forwardly to input external air into the goggle interior. The inlet air vents have converging and angled walls. A first porous foam of particular porosity covers the inlet air vents and is located in an upper air channel with a curved deflector wall to disperse the external air into the interior space. Exit vents located in the bottom of the frame are covered with a second porous foam of different characteristics than the first porous foam. The sides of the goggle frame include curved slots with curved retention bars around which a stretchable headband strap is secured to create uneven load forces on the sides of the goggle frame.

Goggle for sports and adverse environments

The thermoplastic resins incorporate dyes which tint the lens to create transmission curves having peaks and valleys which approximate or enhance certain response characteristics of the retina of the human eye. Inlet air vents are covered by porous foam located in an upper air channel to disperse downwardly the external air into the interior space behind the lens. Outlet vents located in the bottom of the frame are covered with a porous foam to exit air from the interior space.
