A waste outlet unit cover for a waste water outlet unit for a shower tray, the cover comprising a non-screw threaded attachment arrangement by which the cover can be securely and releasably attached to the waste water outlet unit. A waste water outlet unit having such a cover is also provided.

Waste water outlet unit

A former creates a sloping profile for waste-water run off below a waterproof floor covering of a shower area. The former is made of a molded or cast plastics material and has sloping surfaces converging to define an integral linear drainage trough having upstanding side walls and a base, the base of the trough containing at least one predefined drainage hole for connection to a shower waste. The former may be covered with a flexible waterproof floor covering, the covering placed between the sides of the trough and a support frame, and retained in position by fasteners through the frame and trough. A perforated drainage cover is mounted on and secured to the support frame by fasteners.

A pipe coupling () which comprises a coupling body () having an inlet end () for connection to a water outlet; an outlet end () for connection to a water inlet, and a liquid flow passage () which connects the inlet and outlet ends () and which defines a water flow path () through the coupling body (); a sealable filter and flow detector access opening () which is provided on the coupling body (); and a filter element () and a flow detector device () which are removably receivable in the coupling body via the access opening and positionable on the flow path to extend across at least a part of the lateral extent of the liquid flow passage.

A control device for controlling a shower waste pump, includes a housing, a pump setting, and an over-run setting. The pump setting, by way of a control element, preferably a manually adjustable potentiometer, allows selective setting of a maximum pumping capacity of the waste pump. The over-run setting, also by way of a control element, allows selective setting of an over-run period from a predetermined range during which the waste pump continues to operate after fluid flow through the waste pump has ceased or substantially ceased. The over-run setting and the pump setting together optimize operation of the waste pump, so that the over-run period of the waste pump can be set based on the selected maximum pumping capacity.

Shower waste pump control device

A non-flexible floor covering adaptor is provided for use with a shower tray () having a peripheral trough () and means for engaging flexible floor covering material in the trough (). The adaptor () comprises a first profiled portion () locatable in the trough () of the shower tray (); a second profiled portion () which matches or substantially matches a peripheral edge of the shower tray (), and a floor flange () for engagement with non-flexible floor covering material, such as tiles or boards.

A pumped waste () for a shower comprises a sump (), a waste water inlet () through which waste water enters the sump (), a waste water outlet () for connection to a pump for drawing at least a portion of the waste water from the sump () through the waste water outlet (), and a switch device () for controlling the pump. The switch device () includes a first part () which is located on the sump (), and a second part () which is provided externally of the sump () in spaced relationship with the first part (). The second part () is spaced from, and positioned at a level below, the waste water inlet (). The in use first and second parts () of the switch device cooperate without physical contact with each other to control the pump based on the level of water in the waste.

A splayable fastening device comprises a fastener engagable element having a screw-threaded element, at least one flexibly springable arm member which is at least in part wrapable about a screw-threaded axis of the screw-threaded element, and a retainer for retaining the said flexibly springable arm member in its wrapped or coiled condition. The retainer is movable relative to the flexibly springable arm member whereby the flexibly springable arm member is unfurlable in a clockwise or anticlockwise direction. A method of fastening to a hollow wall using such a splayable fastening device is also provided.

A pumped shower draining device for shower apparatus, the device comprising a housing having a waste water inlet and a waste water outlet, a pump element provided within or adjacent to the housing which pumps waste water from the waste water inlet to the waste water outlet, a first pump-driving device drivably engaged with the pump element, a second pump-driving device drivably engaged with the pump element, and a controller to control the first and/or second pump-driving devices. The first pump-driving device is hydraulically operable by shower water supplied to a shower head. The second pump-driving device is electrically operable, and the controller controls at least one of the first pump-driving device and second pump-driving device to supplement and/or to be substituted for the other. Shower apparatus having the pumped shower draining device is also provided.

An electric shower water heater unit for connection to a water supply and a mains electricity supply comprises a housing having a shower water outlet to which a shower hose is connectable; an electric water heater housed in the housing and fluidly connectable to a water supply outlet of the water supply and electrically connectable to the mains electricity supply, the electric water heater supplying water to the shower water outlet of the housing; a user-operable controller () for controlling a temperature and a flow rate of water supplied to the shower water outlet of the housing, and a control circuit which is housed in the housing and which controls the electric water heater based on inputs received from the user-operable controller (). The user-operable controller includes a touch-pressure sensitive element () for pressing by a user and which is in communication with the control circuit. The control circuit only controls the electric water heater when a pressure imparted by a user pressing the touch-pressure sensitive element () is equal to or greater than a predetermined value.

A height-adjustable shower waste for a bathroom floor having a non-flexible waterproof floor covering material, the shower waste comprising a waste body () for mounting in the bathroom floor and having a base (), one or more sides extending from the base (), a waste water inlet (), and a waste water outlet () connected or connectable to a drain; a cover support element () on which a cover element () is or can be provided to cover the waste water inlet (); distance setting means () for selectively setting a distance between an in use upper edge of the cover support element () and the waste body (); and retaining means () for positively retaining the cover support element () at the said set distance. A method and an adapter device are also provided.

Height adjustable shower waste

A pumped drainage apparatus for a shower includes a waste water unit, a waste water inlet for accepting waste water runoff from a shower, a waste water outlet in fluid communication with the waste water inlet, a pump in fluid communication with the waste water unit, a sensing circuit including one or more sensors for sensing waste water, and a control circuit for controlling and varying a flow rate of the pump based on an output of the sensing circuit. The sensors may be isolated to prevent contact with waste water while the apparatus is in use. A variable flow control device for the pumped drainage apparatus is also provided.

Electric water heater for shower

A shower cubicle panel comprises a main panel element () of composite construction with at least two layers of different material, and means for interconnecting the cubicle panel () to an adjacent panel () and a shower tray (). A connector for adjacent shower cubicle panels comprises a first part (), a second part (). The first part () has a first elongate channel portion () for receiving an edge of a first shower cubicle panel, and a male connector portion (). The second part () has a second elongate channel portion () for receiving an edge of a second shower cubicle panel, and a female connector portion () substantially complementarily shaped to receive the male connector portion (). A sealing element () is interposable between the first and second parts () for preventing their disengagement.
