A filtration system and methods of assembly and operation are provided. The filtration system includes an array of perforated tubes in flow communication with a flow of intake air. Each perforated tube comprises a solids inlet and a solids outlet. The system also includes a solids feed system comprising a feed line coupled in flow communication with said solids inlet and configured to channel sorbent material through each perforated tube in said array. The filtration system also includes a monitoring arrangement for monitoring a parameter associated with the intake air, and varying the operation of the system based upon said parameter.

Filtration system for use in a gas turbine engine assembly and method of assembling thereof

A media comprising a hydrophobic media layer and a hydrophilic matrix applied to one face of the hydrophobic media layer is provided. The media may be incorporated into a filter cartridge for an air filtration system for a gas turbine engine. The media may have the capability to wick droplets of water.

A sorption arrangement for a gas turbine includes a sorbent-laden media. The sorbent-laden media is positioned within an inlet system for the gas turbine. The sorbent-laden media includes one or more sorbents. The sorbent-laden media contacts inlet air passing through the inlet system for the gas turbine such that gas phase contaminants are removed from the inlet air by the sorbent-laden media. A method of removing gas phase contaminants within an inlet system of a gas turbine is provided.

A pulse detonation cleaning system is provided and includes a common tube, which is fluidly coupled to a vessel, a first array, including a plurality of elongate detonation tubes arrayed about a common axis, each of the plurality of the detonation tubes being disposed upstream from and fluidly coupled to an interior of the common tube and a second array, including a plurality of detonators arrayed about the common axis, each of the plurality of the detonators being disposed upstream from and operably coupled to a corresponding one of the plurality of the detonation tubes such that actuation of each of the plurality of the detonators leads to combustion in the corresponding one of the plurality of the detonation tubes.

A portion of the exhaust generated by a turbomachine is recirculated through an inlet portion by an exhaust gas recirculation system. The system reduces the level of constituents within the exhaust before the exhaust is recirculated. The turbomachine may be utilized to drive the exhaust gas through the system.

A pollutant removal system for use with a power generation system includes a particulate control device configured to remove particulates from a flue gas stream produced within the power generation system. The particulate control device is cleaned on a predetermined cleaning cycle. The pollutant removal system also includes a sorbent control system for controllably injecting a sorbent into the flue gas stream upstream of the particulate control device. The sorbent control system is configured to adjust a sorbent injection rate as a function of the cleaning cycle.

Methods and systems for removing pollutants from fluid stream

A waste heat recovery system is provided. The waste heat recovery system includes a gas separation apparatus that includes a chamber and at least one membrane positioned within the chamber. The gas separation apparatus is configured to produce a retentate that includes at least a combustible gas and a permeate that includes at least a waste gas, wherein the waste gas includes at least a noncombustible gas. Moreover, the waste heat recovery system includes a burner that is coupled to the gas separation apparatus, wherein the burner is configured to receive the permeate and to combust the permeate such that heat is generated from the permeate. Further, a heat recovery steam generator is coupled to the burner and configured to recover heat generated by the burner.

An exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system and a method for recirculating an exhaust gas stream from an outlet to an inlet of a turbomachine are provided. The EGR system includes a guide element to channel the exhaust gas stream from the inlet to the outlet and a Rankine cycle system through which a working fluid is circulated. The Rankine cycle system including serially a high temperature heat exchanger in heat exchange relationship with the guide element; an expansion device coupled to a generator; a low temperature heat exchanger in heat exchange relationship with a cooling medium; and a pump. The exhaust stream at the outlet has a first temperature and the exhaust stream downstream of the high temperature heat exchanger has a second temperature that is lower than the first temperature.

A first portion of each of a plurality of Qu-type heat pipes is disposed in a hot gas path, and a second portion of each of the plurality of Qu-type heat pipes disposed away from the hot gas path. Also, the first portion of each of the plurality of Qu-type heat pipes extracts heat from the hot gas path and wherein the second portion of each of the plurality of Qu-type heat pipes creates a vapor that exits each second portion of the plurality of Qu-type heat pipes and away from the hot gas path.

Also a method of manufacturing such an electrostatic filter assembly.

A system includes an emissions control system. The emissions control system includes a chemical injection conduit. The emissions control system also includes a chemical injector coupled to the chemical injection conduit, wherein the chemical injector is configured to output an emissions control chemical into the chemical injection conduit. The emissions control system further includes a wave generator coupled to the chemical injection conduit, wherein the wave generator is configured to output multiple waves that propagate through the chemical injection conduit into a flow path of combustion products to drive improved mixing of the emissions control chemical with the combustion products.

System and method for controlling emissions in a combustion system

A method of reducing the concentration of pollutants in a combustion flue gas having a first temperature is provided. The method includes the step of providing an organic Rankine cycle apparatus utilizing a working fluid and including at least one heat exchanger is arranged in thermal communication with the flue gas. The method further includes the step of reducing the temperature of the flue gas to a second temperature less than the first temperature by vaporizing the working fluid within the heat exchanger utilizing thermal energy derived from the flue gas. The method further includes the step of filtering the flue gas through at least one filter disposed downstream of the heat exchanger to remove pollutants from the flue gas. An associated system configured to reduce the concentration of pollutants in the combustion flue gas is also provided.
