A method of supporting a user's cranium includes directly supporting at least a portion of a first user's T1-T6 vertebrae with a primary support and directly supporting a junction between the first user's occipital bone and C1 vertebrae with a secondary support spaced from the primary support. The positions of the primary and secondary supports may be independently adjusted relative to each other. Various body support structures and headrest structures are also provided.

A rail system () is disclosed which may be employed within a commercial interior (). The rail system () comprises a series of primary-tracks () in a spaced apart configuration. The rail system () also comprises a series of cross rails () releasably interconnectable to the primary tracks (). The rail system () permits electrical and mechanical interconnections and reconfiguration of electrical and mechanical interconnections, for various functional accessories and communications.

A table includes a support leg having an elongated channel extending longitudinally along at least a portion of the support leg and opening laterally outwardly from said support leg. The channel has an open end at a top of the support leg. In a preferred embodiment, a catch member extends across at least a portion of said channel and a worksurface is supported by the top of said support leg. In another aspect, the worksurface has a cutout shaped to receive at least a portion of the top of the support leg with at least a portion of the channel nested in the cutout. In a preferred embodiment, the support leg includes a socket that is shaped to receive a portion of the worksurface. A method of routing a utility line on a table is also provided.

A storage unit includes a first and second horizontal shelf member, at least one vertical panel disposed between the first and second horizontal shelf members, and at least one tie member. A bottom of the at least one vertical panel is supported by the first shelf member and the second shelf member is supported on a top of the at least one vertical panel. The at least one tie member extends between and connects the first and second horizontal shelf members, with the at least one panel clamped therebetween. In another aspect of the invention, a method for assembling a storage unit is provided.

A modular tile and modular tile system is disclosed. The modular tile includes a base structure having a generally horizontal portion. Floor support members are positioned on a bottom surface of the generally horizontal portion. Upper column members extend above the horizontal portion of the modular tile. A cover is supported by the upper column members a distance above the horizontal portion thereby creating a chamber between the horizontal portion and the cover. The chamber is adapted to receive cabling therein.

In a preferred embodiment, a modular desk includes a frame defining a periphery of a worksurface area and at least one opening formed within the worksurface area. A storage accessory is removeably received in the opening and releaseably engages the frame. In one embodiment, the frame further comprises a plurality of sockets formed therein. An accessory includes a stanchion having an insert portion received in at least one of the plurality of sockets. In one embodiment, an accessory includes a flexible membrane, which forms at least a portion of a worksurface. A method of reconfiguring a worksurface with various accessories is also provided, as is a method for storing an article on a worksurface.

A tilt assembly comprising a tilt housing, a body support member pivotally attached to said tilt housing about a first horizontal axis and a spring mounted to said tilt housing at a second horizontal axis. The body support member is moveable between a first and second position. The second horizontal axis is adjustably moveable relative to the first horizontal axis. The spring biases said body support member at a first location when the body support member is in the first position and at a second location when the body support member is in the second position, with the second location being a greater distance from the first horizontal axis than the first location. A method for supporting a chair body support member is also provided. The method comprises moving the second horizontal axis to a desired position relative to the first horizontal axis, reclining the body support member, and biasing the body support member at first and second locations when the body support member is in the first and second positions respectively.

A height adjustable table that has a base and a table top. A support is attached to the tabletop where the support selectively engages the base solely via friction so that the tabletop is prevented from moving relative to the base.

This invention is directed to a shelf assembly having a shelf, a mounting block and a barrier member. The shelf has a first edge. The mounting block is attached to the first edge. A barrier member is adapted to be attached to the mounting block. The barrier member is capable of being oriented in at least two positions with respect to the shelf. The two positions include an article retaining position and an article access position.

Tabletop

A cart for transporting materials along a floor having a base positioned parallel to the floor. Positioned above the base is a rectangular cover having a first side edge, a second side edge and a back edge defining three sides of a rectangle. A first side support, a second side support and a back support each extend from the base to the cover. Four vertical supports extend from the base to contact the cover at four points substantially aligned with a first diagonal of the rectangle.

A space-dividing upright wall system wherein wall panels are supported on and connected through upright panel connecting members, the latter having a foot for engagement with a floor. The panel connecting member is preferably of Z-shaped cross section including parallel side legs joined by a diagonally-extending cross wall. Each side leg has an upright row of slots which accommodate hangers associated with components which mount on the wall system. The slots in the two sidewalls are isolated from one another by the cross wall. Each side leg has vertically-extending rows of hooks projecting outwardly from opposite side edges thereof, which hooks cooperate with a pair of generally aligned panels for rigidly joining the panels together. When two adjacent panel assemblies are disposed in generally perpendicular relationship to one another, then the adjacent end edges are each provided with a connecting member secured thereto, and the adjacent pair of connecting members in turn are directly joined together through an intermediate corner connector which engages a row of hooks on the connecting member which is not engaged with the panel assembly.
