A three-dimensional printing system includes a resin vessel containing resin, an imaging bar, a movement mechanism coupled to the imaging bar, and a controller. The imaging bar includes an arrangement of light emitting devices that selectively emit radiation from an exit surface of the imaging bar to define a build plane in the resin. The exit surface of the imaging bar is preferably less than 10 millimeters from the build plane. The controller is configured to scan the imaging bar along a scan axis and, concurrent with scanning, operate the imaging bar to selectively image a layer of resin at the build plane.

A three-dimensional printing system for fabricating a three-dimensional article includes a resin vessel, a motorized build plate, an imaging bar, and a movement mechanism. The resin vessel is for containing a photocurable resin, the photocurable resin having an upper resin surface. The motorized build plate is for supporting the three-dimensional article in the photocurable resin. The imaging bar includes a plurality of light emitting devices arranged along a transverse axis for emitting light generally downwardly and a transparent sheet disposed below the plurality of light emitting devices. The transparent sheet has a lower surface to contact the resin and define a build plane below the upper surface of the resin. The movement mechanism is for imparting movement of the imaging bar along a scan axis.

A three-dimensional printing system for manufacturing three-dimensional articles includes an apparatus, a filtration system, and a controller. The apparatus is a fabrication system that generates ignitable powder dust in an inert atmosphere fluid stream. The filtration system receives the fluid stream and has a plurality of filter units in a parallel arrangement including at least a first filter unit and a second filter unit. The controller is configured to control the filtration unit and to thereby individually operate the plurality of filter units in two states including a filtration state and an oxidation state. When one of the plurality of filter units is operating in the filtration state another of the plurality of filter units is operating in the oxidation state.

A three-dimensional printing system for fabricating a three-dimensional article includes a resin vessel, a motorized platform, an imaging bar, a movement mechanism, a servicing module, and a controller. The motorized platform has an upper surface for supporting the three-dimensional article. The imaging bar has an array of light emitters arranged along a transverse axis which emitting light downwardly from an exit surface. The controller is configured to: operate the motorized build plate, the movement mechanism, and the imaging module to complete fabrication, and periodically during fabrication operate the movement mechanism to position the imaging bar in the servicing module to clean resin residue from the imaging bar.

A three dimensional (3D) printing system includes a print engine, a first powder handling module, a sieve, a second powder handling module, and a controller. The controller operates the print engine to fabricate 3D articles of manufacture. The controller operates the first powder handling module to transfer excess powder from the print engine to the first powder handling module and to receive new powder. The first powder handling module dispenses powder to the sieve. The controller operates the second handling module to transfer powder from the sieve to the second powder handling module. The second powder handling module provides powder to the print engine.

A three dimensional printing system includes a powder delivery system and a controller. The powder delivery system includes a cartridge, a powder transfer assembly, a vacuum source, and source of inert gas. The cartridge includes a lower portion defining a lower cavity containing powder and an upper portion. The powder transfer assembly includes a cowling and a loader suction tube that extends through the cowling. The controller is configured to: (1) lower the cowling into sealing engagement with the upper portion of the cartridge whereby an upper cavity is defined between the cowling and the upper portion of the cartridge, (2) operate the source of inert gas to positively pressurize the upper cavity, and (3) lower the loader suction tube into the powder while operating the vacuum source to extract the powder.

System for introducing combustible powders to a three dimensional printer

A media storage bin including a floor and a pair of spaced apart walls specifically spaced to receive pieces of media and to retain the pieces of media in a stacked condition. A drop control flap is mounted to an individual one of the spaced walls for delaying the fall of a piece of media into the bin. This wall includes a top surface. A platform for supporting a stack of pieces of media is disposed in the bin, between the wall top surface and the floor. A helical spring is disposed between the platform and the floor for maintaining the top of the media stack at a predetermined distance from the wall top surface to provide thereby a constant fall distance between an individual one of the pieces of media and the wall top surface. This is accomplished in a manner whereby the spring rate enables the platform to drop the thickness of one piece of media for each piece of media added to the top of the stack.

Print cartridges on printers using stationary print cartridges are accessed by service station components such as wipers, scrapers, cleaning fluid applicators, ink receiving receptacles and cappers in a manner similar to what is done in a conventional scanning printhead printing system. A print cartridge support structure holds one or more print cartridges in a stationary position while applying ink on a media. A printhead is located on each of the print cartridges. The printhead has nozzles for ejecting ink which are arranged in a nozzle array of one or more columns of nozzles. A media movement mechanism provides movement of the media though a print zone located beneath the nozzle array. A printhead servicing station is located outside of the print zone and has one or more servicing modules dedicated for interaction with one of the nozzle arrays when the one of the nozzle arrays is positioned in aligned proximity with its dedicated servicing module. A motorized device coupled to the print cartridge support structure moves the print cartridge support structure out of the print zone to the service station during a period when the print cartridges are not applying ink to the media.

An image forming device having a rotatable drum, at least one printhead mounted adjacent to the rotatable drum, and a printhead service station. The printhead and rotatable drum together define a print zone in which fluid travels from the printhead towards the rotatable drum, and the printhead service station is within the print zone.
