A hollow fiber membrane is disclosed that includes both a porous hollow fiber and a nonporous film coating. The hollow fiber membrane is suitable for use in solubilizing gases into liquids. In a digital video system, high availability distribution is provided using spare modules such as an integrated receiver decoder, multimedia transcoder and streaming module in support of the primary modules. The primary modules multicast status messages which are monitored by the spare modules. When failure of a primary module is detected, the spare module takes over the role of the failed module, for example by joining the same multicast groups as the failed module and taking over processing of the streams of the failed module. Multiple redundancy schemes are described.

A method for processing event information from a plurality of different live TV feeds comprises a plurality of operations. An operation is provided for receiving a plurality of different live TV feed data streams. Each one of the live TV feed data streams include program content and event information corresponding to the program content. An operation is provided for extracting the event information from each one of the live TV feed data streams and an operation is provided for aggregating the event information from all of the live TV feed data streams.

Method and system for aggregating TV program information from different live TV feeds

A scalable fault tolerant cable headend switching system using modular switching or multiplexing devices. A radio frequency switch connects a series of adjacent cable headend element to a series of output cables. At least one spare cable headend element is connected along with the series. Each cable headend element is configured to be readily swapped with adjacent elements. Output cables are cascaded away from a faulty element toward a spare element when a fault is detected.

High availability mechanism in a cable environment

An IEEE 1394 compliant wireless bridge for connecting local area network segments in multiple rooms. A pair of transceiver units each comply with IEEE 1394 for connectivity and communication with local area network devices. The transceiver units operate using high frequencies and low power levels over very short ranges to communicate data and control signals between rooms. Transmissions are short range and highly directional and thereby do not interfere with other local transmissions.

The base sequence of the DNA coding for the human TNF has been determined using rabbit TNF cDNA. The human TNF can be advantageously produced on a large scale by recombinant DNA technique. The human TNF of the present invention has been found to be excellent in inducing necrosis of tumors with no toxic effect upon the normal tissues of the living body.

A plurality of attachable brackets having an elongate body and first and second ends perpendicular to the body. The first ends have a first opening sized to fit over a plurality of lug sizes and secured to the lug by a lug nut. The second ends have a second opening. A plate has a plurality of holes positioned radially and circumferentially for alignment with lugs of various vehicles having lugs of differing radial and circumferential positions. A plurality of nuts and bolts secure the second ends to the plate. A circular support core may be inserted between the inside of the brackets for strength and a line guide ring may be attached to the vehicle for aligning a line connected to the brackets perpendicular to the brackets.

Hand deflection of the parts, resiliently resisted, results in relatively reduced motion between lens and specimen for focusing. The microscope may be formed as a unitary molding of resinous plastic or as a blank of foldable sections, and it may have built-in slide retainers. The light admitting aperture may be used to precisely locate a liquid specimen for viewing within the focal range of the microscope.
