The inhalation therapy device comprises an aerosol generator () and a mixing chamber (). The introduction of ambient air is achieved by means of supply channels () under the control of an inspiration valve (), including an aerosol passage (), a region with inspiration air through openings () and a valve element (). The aerosol passage () surrounds the membrane () of the aerosol generator (), whereby a front face edge of the tubular aerosol passage () lies along a sealing line () on a surface of the aerosol generator ().

Inhalation therapy device

An inhalation therapy device includes a supply element for a gaseous medium, for example ventilation air of a ventilation device, and a flow influencing element, by means of which a sheath flow is formed around an expansion area for an aerosol generated by an aerosol generator for therapeutic administration. Deposition of aerosol droplets or particles on the inner way of the housing of the inhalation therapy device is effectively prevented in this manner.

The invention describes a mouthpiece for an inhalation therapy unit wherein an aerosol for inhalation is prepared for a patient, said mouthpiece comprising a substantially tubular base ( ), in the wall of which an orifice ( ) is formed, and a flat, elastic valve member ( ), which is adapted in dimension and shape to the orifice ( ) for the closing thereof and which is secured to the mouthpiece in such a manner that during an inspiration process through the mouthpiece the orifice ( ) is closed and during an expiration process directed into the mouthpiece the orifice ( ) is opened. According to the invention, at least one enlarged contact surface ( ) is provided at the orifice ( ) for the accumulation and holding of an amount of liquid by adhesion. This contact surface is established both by an outwardly directed collar ( ) surrounding the orifice and by a narrow bar ( ) which extends into the orifice ( ) for example transversely through the center of the orifice in longitudinal direction of the mouthpiece or transversely across the mouthpiece.

Mouth piece for inhalation therapy units

A limiting valve (,) is provided in an inhalation therapy unit with a valve member (,) which closes an air through opening (,) in the idle state and corresponding to the pressure difference occurring over the valve opens same substantially proportionally up to a threshold value. If the threshold value is exceeded, the valve member (,) abuts against a limiting member (,) which limits the movement of the valve member (,) and the air passage orifices (,) of which are partially closed by the valve member (,) so that air can only flow through the air passage auxiliary orifices remaining free. In this manner the patient using the inhalation therapy unit is urged to breath in the range below the threshold value, as his respiration above the threshold value is opposed by a considerably higher resistance.

Inhalation therapy unit with a valve for limiting the inspiration flow

The invention relates to a breath simulator, which comprises a pump means (1) and a computer means (3). The computer means (3) controls the pump means (1) in such a manner that a stored breathing pattern of a patient is produced on a connecting piece (12) of the pump means. With the aid of the breath simulator, therapeutical nebulisers can be examined.

Breath simulator

The invention relates to a nebuliser comprising a nozzle 3 arranged in a nebulising space and an air inlet flue 5 projecting into the nebulising space. The nebulising space is subdivided by a nebulising space divider into two parts, so that proceeding from the nozzle an aerosol flow occurs from the one part into the other. According to the invention, additional impact faces 7 and 8 are provided in the direct vicinity of the nozzle, which have the effect that only the smallest liquid droplets reach into the upper region of the nebulising space and are available to the patient for therapy.
