A lever connector for contacting electrical conductors may include features and improvements over other lever connectors. The lever connector includes a housing, a busbar located within the housing, one or more lever mechanisms, and one or more resilient members that connect the lever mechanisms to the busbar. The lever mechanism includes a lever located on a near side of the busbar bridge and a lifting mechanism located on a far side of the busbar bridge opposite the near side of the busbar bridge. The resilient member includes a fixed section connected to the busbar bridge and a clamping section connected to the lifting mechanism. When the lever is actuated and lifted upwards and away from the housing, the lifting mechanism moves the clamping section of the resilient member to release away from the busbar base surface. When the lever is closed and pushed downward toward the housing, the lifting mechanism moves the clamping section of the resilient member downward to push the electrical conductor against the busbar base surface, thereby making electrical contact between the electrical conductor and the busbar.

A method for joining two workpiece parts during a manufacturing process includes forming a first workpiece part having a first mating surface and forming a second workpiece part having a second mating surface. The first and second workpiece part may be separately distributed or may be joined for distribution. To join the parts, an energy director is formed in the first mating surface by an automated process, the energy director comprising an end portion projecting from the first mating surface such that the projecting end portion of the energy director engages the second mating surface when the first and second workpiece parts are brought into engagement with each other. In one example, the first and second workpiece parts are ultrasonically welded by pressing the parts together while vibrating at least one of the first workpiece part or the second workpiece part.

Methods and systems for joining workpieces

A lever connector for contacting electrical conductors includes features and improvements over other lever connectors. A crimping tool for an electrical connector includes a frame defining an interior, a handle rotatably coupled with the frame, and a receptacle disposed within the interior of the frame and configured in size and shape to receive an electrical connector. The crimping tool further includes a push member, coupled with the handle, configured to apply a compressive force to an electrical connector disposed within the receptacle responsive to actuation of the handle relative to the frame and a blade coupled to the frame, to the receptacle, or to the push member, so as to be actuatable to cut excess wiring from an electrical connector disposed within the receptacle.

A cable lacing tie device includes a head assembly and a cable lacing tape. The head assembly being configured to retain a first portion of the cable lacing tape within the head assembly and having a length of the cable lacing tape extending from the head assembly. The head assembly further adapted to retain a second portion of the cable lacing tape extending from the head assembly. The methods of using the cable lacing tie devices include retaining a first portion of a cable lacing tape in a head assembly, looping the cable lacing tape around a plurality of objects, and retaining a second portion of the cable lacing tape within the head assembly.

A connector for a coaxial cable includes a mandrel, a coupler, and a body. The mandrel is insertable between the dielectric and the outer conductor of the cable. The coupler includes an annular shoulder extending radially inward from the coupler for retaining a mandrel. The body is matingly engaged with the coupler and defines a first inner bore proximate the coupler having a substantially coextensive diameter and a second inner bore having a diameter smaller than the first inner bore. Together, the mandrel sleeve and the second inner bore squeeze the outer jacket of the coaxial cable between the outer surface of the mandrel sleeve and the second inner bore to affix the connector to the cable.

A tool for installing compression connectors of various sizes and types on the end of a coaxial cable has a base mounting a pair of movable anvils for engaging two different lengths of connectors. The base further incorporates a fixed anvil for engaging a third length of connector. The movable anvils define an aperture which is shaped to permit easy entry and exit of a cable while still applying a suitable retention force to an inserted cable. A connector seating holder is formed in the front of the tool. A slidably mounted plunger cooperates with the anvils to compress a connector. The plunger has a push head and a slide rod. A lock nut is threaded on the push head and is engageable with the slide rod to prevent rotation of the push head.
