A system is disclosed for detecting the presence of dielectric fluids and water in a utility enclosure. The system includes a sensor assembly that may be installed in the utility enclosure. The sensor assembly has an array of capacitance sensors extending into the utility enclosure to an area where the fluids are expected to be present. The sensor assembly also has a pressure sensor that can detect the total pressure of the fluids in the enclosure. The reading from both sensors can be feed to a processor and a transmitter that sends the readings wirelessly to a receiver assembly. The receiver assembly includes a wireless receiver, a second processor connected to the wireless receiver and a display. The processor may process the readings from the sensors to calculate and report the levels of fluids in the enclosure.

Method and apparatus for wireless dielectric fluid detection

The disclosure provides a wireless gauge reader system for use on an existing electrical substation where the substation has a window through which at least one glow tube is visible. The system includes a frame fastened to the substation that surrounds at least a portion of the window, and a door in connection with the frame that allows the door to open and close. The door includes a wireless gauge reader (WGR) that has an optical sensor that is positioned to view the glow tube when the door is closed. The WGR also has a transmitter to transmit a wireless signal based on the illumination state of the glow tube. Various aspects of the connection of the door to the frame are disclosed.

A new and improved ferroelectric liquid crystal display system having a matrix structure of pixel elements each including a transistor active switching device and a ferroelectric cell. Each switching device is coupled to an individual storage capacitor which is charged during each row select time when the switching device is activated, and which is discharged during each frame time when the switching device is deactivated. A plurality of multi-level or analog column drivers supply selected drive currents to charge individually the storage capacitors of a row of pixel elements to desired initial voltage levels corresponding to desired gray scale levels for the pixel elements during a row select time to maintain the liquid crystal pixel images for lengths of time proportional to the initial charge levels of the capacitors, which discharge until their individual voltages reach a threshold voltage within predetermined discharge times during one frame time.

Ferroelectric liquid crystal display apparatus and method of making it

A new and improved display control system which includes a logic arrangement for causing auxiliary light information projected from a hand held light generating device upon a projected primary image to be integrated into the primary video image upon command from a user. A display control circuit causes the underlying primary image to be altered to include an accentuating image indicative of the path of travel followed by a spot of auxiliary control light as it is directed by a user via the hand held light generating device. A color control circuit responsive to user input commands enables the accentuating image to be displayed in one of at least eight primary colors. An erase control circuit also responds to user input commands to enable the user entered accentuating images to be deleted selectively individually or in total simultaneously.

Method and display control system for accentuating

A method and system for producing a finely textured display image of a gradation of high color resolution color shading. The high color resolution system is adapted to be coupled to a relatively inexpensive high speed active matrix display panel employing single-bit LCD drivers and a plurality of sub-pixel elements. The system includes a sub-pixel activation circuit for generating single-bit digital signals for driving individual ones of the sub-pixel elements. A duty cycle circuit arrangement controls the sub-pixel activation circuit to cause desired ones of the sub-pixel elements to be activated selectively an average number of times over a large number of consecutive frame time intervals to generate sub-pixel images having desired perceived color shading levels. A fixed pattern generator responsive to a desired color shading level signal, controls the duty cycle circuit arrangement to activate sub-pixel elements to the desired perceived color shading levels and assigns color codes to groups of sub-pixel elements to produce color blending sub-pixel patterns that help to inhibit substantially color contouring between adjacent sub-pixel element images exhibiting a plurality of different color shading levels of a single primary color. The high resolution display system also includes a video interface module for coupling either RGB analog signals or RGB digital signals to the high speed LCD display panel.

A multiple color display system employing a low speed active matrix panel and a color enhancing unit for defining composite pixel groupings in the active matrix panel and for causing each grouping to produce in excess of 24 thousand different color shading levels.

Video display system and method of using same

A multiple color display system employing a high speed display panel adapted for positioning on a conventional photographic projector for displaying large video images. The high speed display panel is coupled to an interface unit for converting conventional NTSC signals into analog signals for driving a controller employing a modulation or duty cycle circuit coupled between the high speed display panel and a memory which is drive by the interface unit. The controller also employs a scan modulator for formatting the NTSC signal so that it may be displayed on a 640 by 480 matrix array employed by the high speed display device. Such a system is modular and employs relatively inexpensive subassembly units such as a user selected television signal generating type device, such as a video cassette recorder, a conventional photographic projector and screen, a high speed color enhancing interface controller and a high speed display device, such as an active matrix display panel adapted for positioning on the stage of the projector.

A multiple color display system employing a display device having a plurality of pixel elements each having a set of three subpixel components and a interfacing unit to couple a television signal to the active matrix panel. The interfacing includes a color enhancing unit for defining composite pixel groupings in the active matrix panel and for causing each grouping to produce in excess of 185 thousand different color shading levels.

Enhanced color display system and method of using same

A high speed color display system including a modulation circuit electrically coupled between a high speed display device, such as an active matrix liquid crystal display panel, and a video output signal source, such as a video output card of a personal computer. The modulation circuit including both a scaling circuit for eliminating or substantially reducing contouring caused by quantizing errors associated with approximations of digital pictures and a duty cycle scaling circuit for eliminating or substantially reducing repetitive beats in a displayed image.

High speed color display system and method of using same

The display system includes a liquid crystal display panel unit having three different color components for each pixel of the resulting display. Each one of the individual color components of a pixel of the liquid crystal display panel unit is activated selectively by a corresponding one of a set of video processing units. Each video processing unit is responsive to a video signal from a conventional computer processor for causing the reproduction of a component of a colored image. Each video processing unit includes a translating arrangement for converting a component part of the computer generated video signal into a binary digital signal indicative of a single one of the color components for mixing with other color components to reproduce faithfully the computer generated color image.
