System and methods for transporting end users

A computing system determines that a transportation vehicle is transporting a first end user to a first destination location. Based on a set of factors, the system determines that a driver of the transportation vehicle is able to travel to a rendezvous location to rendezvous with a second end user while the transportation vehicle is progressing to the first destination location along an original route. The system determines an alternate route for the transportation vehicle to travel to the rendezvous location that satisfies the set of factors, and directs the driver of the transportation vehicle to the rendezvous location to rendezvous with the second end user along the alternate route.

Real-time carpool coordinating system

A computing device determines that the computing device is within wireless proximity to a secondary wireless device. Based on the computing device being within wireless proximity to the secondary wireless device, the computing device determines at least one function of the secondary wireless device, and generates an aggregate user interface for display on a display screen of the computing device. The aggregate user interface identifies the secondary wireless device and indicates the at least one function of the secondary wireless device. The computing device receives, via the aggregate user interface, a user input selecting the secondary wireless device. Responsive to the user input, the computing device presents a second user interface including one or more selectable features for operating the secondary wireless device.

Techniques for ability enhancement are described. In some embodiments, devices and systems located in a transportation network share threat information with one another, in order to enhance a user's ability to operate or function in a transportation-related context. In one embodiment, a process in a vehicle receives threat information from a remote device, the threat information based on information about objects or conditions proximate to the remote device. The process then determines that the threat information is relevant to the safe operation of the vehicle. Then, the process modifies operation of the vehicle based on the threat information, such as by presenting a message to the operator of the vehicle and/or controlling the vehicle itself.
