A harvesting machine including a frame, a plurality of ground engaging wheels, at least one grain separating section, a plurality of cross augers and a grain moving device. The plurality of ground engaging wheels support the frame. The at least one grain separating section is supported by the frame. The plurality of cross augers are positioned to receive grain from the at least one grain separating section. The plurality of cross augers each have an end. The grain moving device is associated with each of the plurality of cross augers proximate to the end of the plurality of cross augers.

Combine clean grain elevator system

A mechanism for powering a combine header unit at infinitely variable speeds. A primary motor is coupled to a primary input shaft via a clutch, a variable-speed secondary motor is directly coupled to a secondary input shaft, and the header unit coupled to a header output shaft. A planetary gear-train couples the primary input shaft, the secondary input shaft, and the header output shaft to each other. A primary brake is coupled to the primary input shaft, and a secondary brake coupled to the secondary input shaft. A control circuit is employed to command the operation of the clutch, the secondary motor, the primary brake, and the secondary brake in response to operator commands.

Infinitely variable transmission for a combine header unit

In a drive system for the threshing cylinder of a combine harvester, a conventional infinitely variable V-belt drive, is combined with a two-speed final drive assembly. In the final drive assembly, an epicyclic gear train is housed within the body of a driven sheave journaled on the cylinder shaft. For a direct drive mode, the sheave is coupled to the shaft by way of a flange mounted non-rotatably on the shaft. A sun gear of the gear train is controllable externally of the sheave body and may be non-rotatably secured relative to the combine body for a cylinder speed reducing mode. The combine cylinder speed is therefore infinitely variable within, selectively, either an upper range or a lower range.

Variable drive for a harvester functional element

A dual speed gear case mechanism adapted to drive the rotor of an axial flow combine and which receives its power from the combine engine. The mechanism includes a housing which is tiltably mounted on the chassis of the combine and has a rearwardly projecting input shaft which carries a variable diameter torque sensing V-belt sheave and a forwardly projecting output shaft connected in driving relationship to the combine rotor, the two shafts being offset from each other. Speed-change gearing within the housing is controlled by a shift fork having external operating connections. The housing tilts about the axis of the output shaft so that the input shaft may be adjusted toward and away from its associated drive sheave for V-belt tensioning purposes. Gauge mechanism is provided for facilitating a determination of the correct inclination of the gear case housing to attain proper V-belt tension.
