A fastener driving tool includes a magazine comprised of a plurality of fastener slides, each of which carries a fasteners of a different size. The magazine is designed so that an operator may to choose to drive fasteners from any of the fastener slides. In one embodiment, the fastener slides are arranged around a central core. A rod supported by the tool's base and driver fits within the central core and provides an axis of rotation for the magazine. During rotation of the magazine, each slide can be aligned with the driver. Alignment of a slide is maintained by a position locking means. A feed means in each slide forces the fasteners down the slide and into the driver. In another embodiment, the fastener slides are arranged next to one another in the magazine. Each slide can be aligned with the driver by shifting the magazine laterally. A position locking means keeps the magazine in the proper alignment once a particular fastener slide has been chosen. A feed means forces the fasteners down the slide and into the driver.

This patent discloses a method and apparatus for activation of services in a concrete floor of an office building from below floor slab distribution systems. Void-forming boxes that are secured to a conventional metal deck sheet and surrounded by the concrete floor slab provide chambers in which in-floor activations are mounted. An insulating block in the void-forming box restores fire resistance, prior to installation of an activation kit, that is lost by displacement of concrete by the void-forming box. An in-floor activation kit may be installed within the void-forming box and connected to a below floor slab distribution system through an activation opening cut in the metal deck sheet. Connection hardware is secured to the metal deck sheet for connection to a conventional below-floor slab service distribution system providing communication from the interior of the void-forming box to the below-floor slab service distribution system. Void-forming boxes mounted to the metal deck sheet may be connected by conduit in a conventional manner allowing conductors to be routed from a void-forming box connected to a below floor slab service distribution system to another void-forming box through connecting conduit.

Method and apparatus for improved activation of services in an office

This patent discloses a floor box for a service distribution system in a concrete floor slab. The floor box has a bottom, end walls, and side walls that define an interior of the box and a frame support that is positioned within the box and engages end walls and side walls to maintain the end walls and side walls in close conformance at their junction. The frame support also supports an activation frame of an activation kit positioned within an upper opening of the floor box. The floor box is less expensive to manufacture than floor boxes that are manufactured to maintain structural integrity independent of a surrounding concrete floor slab.

Simplified access device for flush floor fittings in the form of a track mounted slider. The slider can be manipulated between a closed position wherein the interior of the fitting is shut off to any desired minimum opening position to accommodate exiting of one or more cables. The slider is never divorced from the fitting and so is available in the event the station is abandoned.

Activating undercarpet cable from infloor conductors

An electrical outlet fitting for electrical raceways which are buried in concrete floors. The fitting includes an attaching ring assembly for securing the fitting to the top of the raceway, an adjusting ring assembly to ensure proper alignment with the floor surface, and a closure assembly which provides for the passage of electrical conductors.

Poke-thru has floor fitting serviced by a thru floor unit in a bore in the floor and carries power and/or communications conductors. The thru floor unit comprises a pair of mounting screws which extend down through the floor fitting base with the heads engaging the base. The mounting screws carry a flexible finger type retaining clip to grip the side of the bore. Above the retaining clip, on the mounting screws, are top separator means which maintain the clip and base a fixed distance apart. Intumescent material and a top spacer are loosely disposed in the space between the clip and the base. Below the retaining clip, on the mounting screws, is a bottom spacer. Below the bottom spacer are top and bottom retainers held a fixed distance apart by separator means. Intumescent material is loosely disposed in the space between the top and bottom retainers. The bottom retainer has nuts in which the screws are threaded.

Economy poke-thru

Power and communication service fitting buried in concrete beneath the floor covering so as to be out-of-sight. Only the power/communication service cables from the fitting below extend above the floor covering surface. A cover is easily removable to provide access to the interior.
