A personal display device for displaying virtual images to a wearer including a frame having a right temple section, a left temple section, a right eye see-through section, and a left eye see-through section; a projection display device connected to the frame; a processor connected to the projection display device and arranged within the left temple section or right temple section; and at least one waveguide stack module connected to the frame, the at least one waveguide stack module being configured to receive image-bearing light beams from the projection display device.

A method of fabricating a substrate includes providing a substrate having a flat surface and a beam writing system operable to write in a first direction and a second direction, wherein the second direction is perpendicular to the first direction, The method further includes providing a diffraction grating layout pattern having a first diffraction grating, a second diffraction grating, and a third diffraction grating. The method also includes locating the substrate in the beam writing system, whereby the beam writing system is operable to write into the flat surface, and aligning one of the first, second, and third diffraction gratings parallel with the beam writing system first direction. Additionally, the method includes writing the diffraction grating layout pattern into the substrate flat surface via the beam writing machine.

An imaging apparatus for stereoscopic viewing having a frame operable to be reshaped from a first shape to a second shape. In some examples, switching between communication modules, antennas, or frequencies is based on motion of the user's head or the electrical resistance, salinity, or chemical composition of a body of water the augmented reality display unit is placed within.

The out-coupling diffractive optic having two or more zones each including a set of diffractive features, wherein successive zones along one dimension of the out-coupling diffractive optic have different respective sets of diffractive features, wherein the diffractive features are operable to direct image-bearing light beams of a first pixel incident upon the diffractive features at a first angle whereby the directed image-bearing light beams of the first pixel further propagate within the waveguide, and wherein the diffractive features are operable to out-couple a portion of the image-bearing light beams of the first pixel incident upon the diffractive features at a second angle.

A personal display device for displaying virtual images to a wearer. The personal display device includes a frame having a right temple section, a left temple section, a right rear section, a left rear section, a right eye see-through section, and a left eye see-through section; a projection display device connected to the frame for projecting an image to the wearer; at least one waveguide stack module connected to the frame for propagating image-bearing light beams along a length of the at least one waveguide stack module, the at least one waveguide stack module being configured to receive the image from the projection display device and detected touch motions of the wearer sensed by the touchpad including sensing directions of the touch motions of the wearer.

An imaging apparatus for stereoscopic viewing has a frame that seats against the head of a viewer. A left-eye imaging apparatus and a right-eye imaging apparatus are supported by the frame. The frame is reshapeable in a manner that changes a relative alignment of the left-eye imaging apparatus and the right-eye imaging apparatus to accommodate different viewer head anatomies. An adjustment mechanism responsive to the reshaping of the frame restores relative alignment of the left-eye imaging apparatus and the right-eye imaging apparatus for conveying stereoscopic virtual images to the viewer.

A method and system for managing financial risk through the use of postpaid processing during use of wireless services is presented within the scope of the following invention. The present invention uses credit card authorization to pre-reserve credit card funds for wireless services in excess of planned usage. Authorizations eliminate the credit risk associated with overages and payment timing, and also maintain a customer experience identical to postpaid processing. The authorizations are invisible to the customer and no charge is brought to a customer's credit card until the monthly bill is settled. Separating the authorization and settlement stages of retail wireless payment processing allows the branded wireless provider to avoid inherent areas of credit risk during the tenure of a customer's wireless service, while maintaining a familiar customer experience.

Method for minimizing financial risk for wireless services

An implantable medical assist device includes a medical device. The medical device has a housing and electronics contained therein. A lead provides an electrical path to or from the electronics within the medical device. A resonance tuning module is located in the housing and is connected to the lead. The resonance tuning module includes a control circuit for determining a resonant frequency of the implantable medical assist device and an adjustable impedance circuit to change the combined resonant frequency of the medical device and lead.

A lead includes a conductor having a distal end and a proximal end and a resonant circuit connected to the conductor. The resonant circuit has a resonance frequency approximately equal to an excitation signal's frequency of a magnetic resonance imaging scanner or a resonance frequency not tuned to an excitation signal's frequency of a magnetic resonance imaging scanner so as to reduce the current flow through a tissue area, thereby reducing tissue damage. The resonant circuit may be included in an adapter that provides an electrical bridge between a lead a medical device such as an electrode, sensor, or signal generator. The resonant circuit may also be included directly in the housing of a medical device.

A medical device having a frequency independent circuit that substantially reduces induced currents in a lead assembly and at a tissue interface. The frequency independent circuit configures an electrical path such that a stimulation pulse travels from the medical device to a selected tissue, and a current induced by an external changing electromagnetic signal is prevented from travelling the electrical path from the selected tissue to the medical device.

A synthetic image is produced which will be viewed by an operator of a train to provide the operator with important information indicative of the environment to be encountered by the train during subsequent movement of the train. This information includes information about upcoming track and highway crossings. The synthetic image may be utilized during all periods of operation of the train but will be particularly desirable during night and during periods of bad weather, such as rain, snow and fog, when normal vision is limited. The system utilizes accurate measurement of the location of the train, accurate knowledge of the path of the track and accurate knowledge of placement of track and highway crossings. Automated horn soundings, or monitoring of manual operator activations, significantly enhance safety at such track and highway crossings.
