A method and system for operating an enterprise via an optimized business model. An output benchmark value is generated. An initial benchmark value for a resource of an enterprise is updated based on the output benchmark value. The business model is updated. A process is iteratively performed based on the updated benchmark value and model, until the benchmark value is changed by less than a predetermined threshold to generate the optimized business model. The enterprise is operated in accordance with the optimized model which includes: generating performance measures of usage of a computer resource, dynamically displaying a dashboard of the performance measures, determining from the displayed performance measures that the computer resource is a current bottleneck or is likely to become a bottleneck in the near future, and optimizing the computer resource's usage using the displayed performance measures to reduce data throughput delay and increase throughput of bottleneck operations.

Optimizing a business model of an enterprise

A method and system for operating an enterprise in accordance with an optimized enterprise level business model. A model optimization engine is iteratively processed based on an updated benchmark value and model, until updating the benchmark value involves changing the benchmark value by less than a predetermined benchmark value error threshold to generate the optimized enterprise-level business model. The enterprise is operated in accordance with the optimized enterprise level business model, including: generating and dynamically displaying real-time performance measures of usage of a computer resource during execution of a business process, determining from the performance measures that the computer resource is a bottleneck, and the computer resource's usage is optimized using the performance measures to reduce data throughput delay and increase throughput of bottleneck operations during execution of the business process. Optimizing the computer resource's usage includes making a computer system work more efficiently and/or use fewer resources.

The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for developing, implementing, transforming, and governing a business model of an enterprise. In some embodiments, a method of implementing and managing a business model of an enterprise includes defining a business model using a business model tool that is executed by a computer, wherein the business model is based on interrelated business strategy, business goal and business constraint data, and includes a business service, inputting into the computer a first set of data representing a benchmark performance value of the business service, and operating the enterprise in accordance with the business model. The enterprise is monitored to determine an actual performance value of the business service, and the actual performance value and the benchmark performance value are processed in the computer to affect a comparison therebetween. The business model is modified based on the comparison.

Developing, implementing, transforming and governing a business model of an enterprise

A cutting tool for use on earth working and land clearing equipment includes a working body portion having a cavity disposed therein which begins at a peripheral edge of a first end and extends inwardly towards a second end of such working body portion. The cavity is provided with a cutting portion disposed at an acute angle about such peripheral edge. A mounting shank extends outwardly from and is attached to the second end of the working body portion for enabling attachment of the cutting tool to a tool holder used on such earth working and land clearing equipment. At least one pin member engaging the complimentarily aligned grooves within an aperture of the tool holder and an outer surface of the shank portion is used to securely retain the cutting tool within the tool holder.

Cutting tool

An apparatus for cutting and clearing brush, trees and land debris includes a housing adapted for mounting to a carrier and a rotor assembly with a predetermined plurality of cutting tools mounted for rotation within the housing and driven by a gearbox and a motor combination. A tubular frame mounted to the housing above the rotor guides pushes the material for contact with the cutting tools mounted on the rotor. A movable front flange provides directional control for processed material discharge. A plurality of cutting tools are attached to a bottom portion of the housing for decreasing the size of the processed material. A plurality of a plate like members are attached to the bottom portion of the housing for limiting a size of the unprocessed material and for guiding the material into the housing for contact with stationary and rotating cutting tools. At least one deflector within the housing reduces the speed of the processed material for increased contact with the cutting tools.

Land clearing apparatus

An apparatus for the treatment of 100% reclaimed asphaltic pavement (RAP) uses low temperatures and no direct radiation from a burner flame to the RAP. The RAP is first heated in a counter flow drum which is supplied with hot combusting gases generated by a remote low NOx burner. The temperature of the drum input gases is preferably around 1100 degrees F and the output temperature of the gases may be 100 degrees F or less greater than the input temperature of the RAP. The RAP may be heated with a microwave oven to raise the RAP to a final temperature, although this step is not absolutely necessary in the counterflow design of this invention.

Recycled asphalt drum dryer having a low NO.sub.x burner

Methods for preparing (S)-N-tert-butyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-3-isoquinoline-carboxamide ('tic-c'), and converting tic-c to (S)-decahydroisoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid t-butylamide ('tic-d') are disclosed. The initial step in the formation of tic-c involves the phosgenation of a substituted tetrahydroisoquinoline to form an N-carboxy anhydride. Tic-d is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of known compounds having pharmaceutical activity.

An apparatus and process is provided for the production of hot mix asphalt (HMA) by the treatment of virgin material alone or adding reclaimed or recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) of up to 100% of the HMA comprised of reclaimed asphaltic pavement (RAP). The HMA is first heated in either a parallel or a counter flow rotating drum which is supplied with hot combustion gases generated by a remote low NO.sub.x burner. The temperature of hot gases entering the drum is from about 400.degree. to 2,000.degree. F., and the temperature of gases exiting from the drum is from about 130.degree. to 220.degree. F. The HMA material optionally can be subjected to microwave radiation to raise the material to a final temperature, or optionally to only reorient the dipolar molecules of the material without any measurable heating of the material. The exhaust gas is treated and made environmentally safe. The hot gases exiting from the drum are passed through a knockout box and then through a baghouse having acrylic bags coated with a protective layer of particulate material. The gases exiting the baghouse are passed through an oxidizer to further remove smoke and asphaltic material and at least a portion of the gases from the oxidizer are recycled through a heat exchanger.

Method of producing hot mix asphalt

An apparatus for controlling the angular velocity and slope angle of a hot mix asphalt drum as a function of the temperature gradient across the drum outlet. Uneven gas outlet temperature indicates that the veil of RAP (Recycled Asphalt Pavement) in the drum is insufficient. The veil is increased by increasing drum speed. The complete recycled asphalt pavement hot mix asphalt plant uses uneven gas outlet temperatures to change drum operating parameters.

The present invention is an improved process for the synthesis of asparagine, a non-essential amino acid useful in food and medical applications. The process utilizes mineral acid to make an intermediate beta-methyl aspartate from a reaction mixture of aspartic acid and methanol. The intermediate product is then amminated in situ and asparagine collected with no need for an isolation step of the intermediates.

Process control for recycled asphalt pavement drum plant

Apparatus which controls recycled asphalt production rate, emissions, mix and output temperature in an asphalt mixer. Computer flow charts show control decisions based upon measured parameters which include drum slope, drum RPM, gas volume into the drum, gas volume out of the drum, drum inlet gas temperature, drum outlet gas temperature, hydrocarbons in the exhaust, and recycled asphalt outlet temperature.
